Battlefield 4 invests its storytelling energy in its characters. Unfortunately, they all-too-often act as soldiers who have character, rather than characters who are soldiers. Well, its Expansive and exciting as well. I also like Battlefield 3 though many were not really satisfied with the course of the game but its fun though. Now, I'm excited with BF5.
Very interesting, can you elaborate on this a bit further?

Has anyone else been disappointed that the custom server sizes are gone? I want to enjoy the game, but it just feels too crowded. Too many people for too small of maps. Feels like playing COD on finding someone around every corner. Always loved BF for open flanking maneuvers. When FPS's get crowded you start to get people hiding in stupid spots because there's so many people, someone will eventually run by.

I like the game, but end up pulling my hair out with the crowding so I just don't play. seems no one else out there talks about it, so I'm not sure if it's me. Or if it's the newer players who grew up on COD.

Otherwise known as 'Snipers' I like big maps and 32vs32 player servers it adds to the intensity of the mayhem. But that only happens if players are playing aggressive and not camping halfway across the map, prone while staring at you through a scope. Gameplay would be so much better if there was a sniper limit, weapons still need to be balanced. Theres like 25 or something odd weapons in the game but only 5 or 6 out of all of them that get used more then any other weapon and for good reason.

Just started playing the sp campaign of this last night. It's a lot better than I'd anticipated. I played the tank mission first, and it's pretty good. I like the on foot sections where you have to clear out the camps in the fog, then spot, snipe, or melee to get to the spark plugs.

I'm only playing on Normal my first run through, but I've not used any lures yet. At first I kept getting spotted, but now I'm getting the hang of it. I can see a third play through if I do Hard a 2nd time with no enemy indicators.

Everything feels like WWI. Slow awkward tanks that have reliability problems, lots of muddy trenches, old dirty scopes that don't zoom, barbaric melee weapons. The icing on the cake is it's more optimized than I thought it would be.

Graphics are very good too, but the cutscenes seem a bit low in texture quality. I'm wondering if they were just softened a bit for effect, or if they rushed through them since this is mostly an mp game.

At any rate the cutscenes I feel do add to the story, and make it feel more immersive.

Worse than snipers. Snipers are on hills and out skirts, can use the 5 D's of Dodgeball for the most part. But when you come into a room and a guys hiding in a corner and no friendly players are near that could have chased him there. Like camping under some stairs. With packed maps that kind of camping is too lucrative. I don't really care on what the player count is, but when they start become packed enough that people pick stupid spots to just sit and wait, then its too packed. The maps in BF1 for the most part are just too small for the amount of players.

Rainbow Six Vegas? That is an old one! Maybe Siege?

BF1: another biggie? I am getting 2 GB update now (I already have played the next map, this must be In the Name of the Zsar)

From readme:
MAPS
  • Galicia – An entrenched fight across a war-torn river valley.
  • Brusilov Keep – A small village high in the Carpathians braces for a Russian siege.
  • Albion – German ships invade the West Estonian Archipelago.
  • Tsaritsyn – Old and new Russia clash in the war-torn streets of Tsaritsyn.
  • Volga River – An epic tank battle along Volga River.
OPERATIONS
  • Brusilov Offensive – The Russian army deploys new tactics on the Eastern Front in 1916.
  • Red Tide – The Russian Red Army and White Guard clash in civil war during 1919.
FACTIONS
  • The Russian Empire’s White Guard
  • Red Army
Plus new weapons I don't care much about, and fixes.

I'm loving the new maps. A great expansion for BF1. Better than the French one imo.

Sniper fest. Terrible idea. Flat ground and little cover. Might be just like WW1 in that respect but making sniper weapons so infallible is unrealistic. DICE should limit points on sniper kills (too easy) and make scope steadying a thing (like almost every other 'zoom' mechanic in almost every other game).

Sniperfest, yes but... no. I get mainly killed by medium range one shot=kill "mouse gods" with all kind of ordinary guns. Only Einstein knows why they allow the easy killing, run, turn and point etc... That's why I love Rising Storm 2, you get shot, wounded, but can survive a little more, you suffer more, more drama, but you get less angry at opponents :)

I wonder if any of the dev team tested tonights update before letting it go live... anything Anti-tank is pretty much useless. Rocket guns and AT nades do fuck all even against the lightest armored tanks. tanks vs other tanks = 2 damage just like rocket gun on the assault vs tanks. Limpet mines do 30 damage and AT mines (actual Anti-Tank mines) just 1 hit kill any vehicle.... On occasion youre lucky to hit for 16 or 17 tank vs tank.

More bugs/Problems

- Invincible Tanks.
- Invisible Tanks. -- Tanks that are there ONE MOMENT then gone as soon as you run back around the corner and prepare to throw an AT grenade. You peek the corner and throw the nade and the tank is nowhere to be found and the nade passes harmlessly through where the tank SHOULD HAVE BEEN and explodes. Then i duck around the same corner again and the same fucking tank that I have been trying to kill is suddenly within spitting distance of me like it just warped back in from outta space.

- fucked up/random spawns. I have had enemies spawn randomly next to me and kill me.
- trippy as fuck squad mate respawning. Im in the middle of spawning on a squad mate and he suddenly gets killed which kicks me into reverse and i zoom out of the map back to the spawn screen where I need to select another spawn point.

On a side note, my squad boosts & battlepacks are still missing

What an absolute fuck up
