Tbh, a real WW1 mechanic would be depressing. The game would be more about sitting in a trench next to your buddy's corpse, piles of feces, and the rats crawling on you while you sleep. And after days of this, you get to run on top to get automatically slaughtered. Not sure how you could create a game out of that.

Got the verification code 2 hours later when I already went to bed lol. I still bought it in the end. For 5€, I don't hate them enough to skip it out of principle. That's Ubisoft's territory...

Immersion would be awesome if all the described would actually be there. And it's doable. Medal of Honor storming of Omaha Beach was amazing, even though equally as deadly. They could make a proper WW1 style game of such sort, taking out defining battles that had a significant outcome.

I bit. Don't mind Origin. I do mind that EA has destroyed the Sim City, Command & Conquer, Medal of Honor, and Need for Speed (somewhat) series for me, though...

Never got into Sim City but I'm with you on the others. The last C&C game I enjoyed was Generals/Zero Hour. Last Medal of Honor I enjoyed was MoHAA (the 2010 Medal of Honor was, without hyperbole, one of the worst games I've played). Last NFS I enjoyed was the Most Wanted reboot. I actually got a refund on Rivals because of the 30fps cap. I do think they can turn NFS around and perhaps they could even revive C&C if the RTS genre garnered more interest but I think Medal of Honor is dead as a franchise.

BF1 is their latest game in the BF franchise and they already giving it away "for a fiver" even before the next game hit the market.
EA knows the BF1 servers are packed with cheaters, they dropped the price so they can fill up the server with some new fresh meat to put in the cheaters cross hairs.
Cheating snipers with OP rifles just destroys the game for every one, will be the same in BF V.

Eh? I have about 300 hours in BF1 and blatant cheaters are extremely rare. Their rifles aren't OP considering the scope glint mechanic easily gives them away and also lets you know when you're in their sweet spot. Fairly easy to avoid. When I play Recon I tend to use iron sights since it doesn't give my position away, and while sniping in BF1 is far easier than it has been in previous games (and quite satisfying), I have way more fun with the other classes.

It's similar. I get that error fairly often as well. Not just for the inventory but for the profile as well. Usually clicking different tabs in the client and going back will fix it but it's still annoying.

Literally just opened Steam and got

Error Code: -302
Unable to load URL, bad hostname or format

when trying to click on a news item. GG Valve. I've gotten used to just ignoring all the errors Steam comes up with but it's kinda sad that it's still in this state.

You really missed out on C&C 3 + Kane's Wrath and C&C Red Alert 3. They were excellent, setting aside RA3's online presence requirement which was easily defeated.

You know, I actually own those games (got the C&C collection a while ago when it was like $5 or $10). I don't remember why I never played them. I know I was less interested because I preferred the more grounded (relatively speaking) setting of Generals/ZH, but looking at some gameplay video for Uprising/Red Alert 3 it certainly seems like something I could get into. Thanks for the recommendation. I'm gonna install them and hopefully get around to them soon.
