Bout time EA made BF 1942 free. I'm hoping they'll make the expansions free as well. Some of the maps and vehicles in Secret Weapons were and still are awesome notably the Natter rockets and the jetpacks.

Awesome! Wonder if it's the same as the version on the disks.

This is by far my favorite Battlefield title to date. The expansion packs and all the mods that were created were AWESOME!
Some of the best mods ever - Desert Combat (puts BF2 to shame IMO), Eve of Destruction (makes BF Vietnam a pathetic joke), and just a really cool one Galactic Conquest (Star Wars mod).

We all should get it and hold a TPU battle royal.

Forgotten Hope 2 is a great WW II mod for BF 2. It is like BF 1942 but more realistic with one shot kills, realistic penetrations, and much more historically accurate maps, and perhaps the best of all 128 player maps.

CoD:UO was good too but what did BF1942 have that it doesn't? HUGE maps and vehicles!!

I think these newer iterations of BF have gotten really far away from the vehicle aspect which sucks because that's what made BF unique.

MOHAA was awesome too.
