Battlefield 2, the successor of the popular WWII shooter Battlefield 1942 has gone GOLD, according to www.planetbattlefield.com.

In order to keep the release date of June 21, 2005 (North America), the mass production of the CDs and the packaging must be ready within approximately two weeks.

Furthermore, Electronic Arts has announced a demo, but up to now, there isn't any information about the exact release date. However, there is a rumor that it will be released in about one week.
The demo will include one map, a single player mode with up to 15 bots and a multiplayer mode with up to 32 players.
