hopefully They've developed something new. The stale reskinned BF model they've released & re-releasesed since BF3 is tired, boring & unimaginative. People with good tastes, have long bored of that worn out game, and moved on, most before the release of BF4 starwars reskin.

Hope they come through this time. Ill hope for the best, & realistically expect the worst/normal

Nice graphics. Actually, really nice.

But what's up with that female character? I don't think there were any female soldiers, not out in the action at least.
Is this to make it politically gender correct?... Smells of Mass Effect Andromeda.

Looks boring to me, but the graphics are gorgeous. I am kind of tired of war shooters though, luckily I have plenty of backlog in other genres to play though, so I'm good. I still need to finish the DOOM single player and dabble in its multi some.

If the damn game was at least set in Cold War era, I'd probably say (not yell though) TAKE MY MONEY.

Well, at least we know the next BFs after this will have awesome graphics (I don't really like BF1).

Why? On the military side of things the cold war was pretty much a bunch menacing glares at one another and equal parts fist waving, Things were only heated on the intelligence side I guess they could make a good SP campaign out of that but they're in it for the MP so they probably wouldn't.

In nearly every war there was a female on the front lines, many made themselves look male just to slip by. Why, is there an issue with females in war?

So that means GAME cannot make up a conflict? BF is not historical warfare simulator, you know?

Then it wouldn't be a Battlefield game. That's COD's schtick, historical correctness is Battlefield's.

Agreed 100%. These settings are stale, even though WWI wasn't done much, it still felt stale to me for some reason. Cold War + Imagination + more freedom to make it neat could be a real winner, especially with that gorgeous graphical engine.

I like the way you worded that "a female on the front lines". A as in singular. Front lines is a stretch, but not impossible...in theory. Is there an issue with females in war? Of course there is. Always has been . Always will be. If we're talking as soldiers. Other than that it's pretty acceptable. The way it's being depicted here is a crock of shit. As if they were commonplace, or commonly involved in full on frontline combat. The only female soldier I've ever heard of that served in combat in WWII was that Russian sniper chick. I'm pretty sure something like what they're showing never actually happened. We'd know about it if it did.

I wanted to see Wake Island or D-Day. The trailer just looked like a BF1 DLC as far as environment setting.

The WWI iteration felt stale because they made it another run and gun shooter where everyone had fully auto weapons.. which isn't what WWI was.

And wtf was that a female with a fake claw arm and a paddle? Get the fuck out of here with this garbage. At least pretend to be authentic.

Some Russian females also served in the Russian Air Force as Aviators and Navigators. Female Partisans also made up a small fraction of the overall number but according to wiki there were some 800,000 females that served in the Russian Armed Forces back in WW2. Only 3% were in non-combat roles such as nurses, administrators etc etc.

You completely either misread or spun those stats to fit what you want

"Over 800,000 women served in the Soviet armed forces in World War II, mostly as medics and nurses, which is over 3 percent of total personnel "

Total personnel referring to overall, men and women.

Women on front line combat were rare if non existent outside of partisan units. Even the famed female sniper is mired in controversy over her being a propaganda piece. To have a woman with a prosthetic that is beyond its time bludgeoning people to death with some kind of paddle is nothing more than absurd.

"Over 800,000 women served in the Soviet armed forces in World War II, mostly as medics and nurses, which is over 3 percent of total personnel "

Women played a part in most of the armed forces of the Second World War. In most countries though, women tended to serve mostly in administrative, medical and in auxiliary roles. But in the Soviet Union women fought also in front line roles. Over 800,000 women served in the Soviet armed forces in World War II, mostly as medics and nurses, which is over 3 percent of total personnel; nearly 200,000 of them were decorated. 89 of them eventually received the Soviet Union’s highest award, the Hero of the Soviet Union, they served as pilots, snipers, machine gunners, tank crew members and partisans, as well as in auxiliary roles.[1] Few of these women, however, were promoted to officers.
Taken from Wiki

My point being, is they did actually serve on the front lines -- they were there though who knows to what extent

Please enlighten me on the subject of historical correctness in BF4.
Correct in that actual battles happened during those conflicts i.e. actual large scale fighting in WWI happened, fighting in WWII happened, fighting happened in Vietnam, Korea(tho this one gets skipped over), and the Middle East. Also note that I said "historically correct," proper for the time/era, not "historically accurate," happened exactly as such.
