I'm a bit confused by the testing methodology. When testing temperatures do you set the fan to 100%, to an specific noise level or do you use a pwm fan curve? And how is that relative performance number calculated? I think its a little weird that the C7 is so close to this cooler when it performs much worse. For example the stock wPrime test, the rise over ambient of the C7 is 48 degrees vs. 36 of the Pure Rock 2, a 33% higher increase. Most other tests seems to be close to that, but its performance is listed at 84% of the Pure Rock.

Fans are set to 100% to verify the maximum performance the cooler offers. If i go by PWM only then its based on the curve I set which will be different depending on the motherboard / or user preference. It also results in coolers clumping up which is already an issue with 100% fan speeds. So using 100% shows the max performance possible and gives an idea of how the coolers will perform when faced with higher heat loads.

Overall Performance takes all tests both stock and OC into account as an overall average reflection of the coolers performance across the board. Typically this means coolers that do good at stock but fall behind in the OC test don't get left in the dust because every system is different and every CPU is different. Therefore with all tests taken into account you end up with an overall view of the average performance at various load levels and settings.

I like Be Quiet! coolers and this one is decent too.

I have a 'budget' Be Quiet! Pure Rock Slim on my 1600x and it keeps the temps between 50-60 celsius while gaming and its dead silent with the default fan/bios settings.

Also I like their design/looks,would even pick up a higher end BQ cooler over the other brands if I actually needed it.

Wowsers!! The PR2's thermal performance is on par with the U12A and retails for almost half the cost (£35/UK). Definitely bookmarking this unit (black) for a second stock Ryzen build.
