Ok, hows this sound for a hammering at BT;
"Hi,
I've just got around to setting up the BT home hub (not the 1.5 version of the hub, its the older one) after a change of hardware from a previous BT package that used the Voyager 105 DSL modem. For a long time period before the switch (probably 3-4 months) I noticed the connection connecting at VERY low speeds (1.7-3.1MB) nomatter the time of day or night. I put this down to the Voyager 105 modem not being able to handle the full speed of the connection I'm supposed to have which is 8MB. However now I've changed to the BT home hub the situation has not improved, and indeed worsened. The BT home hub is junk, its totally incapable of even providing a clean strong signal to a wireless adapter thats no more than 10 meters away from the hub, and can't even maintain a stable bandwidth as a result. There are no devices or objects (TV, cordless phone, magnets etc) in that range or area that would interfere with the signal.
Compounding to this is the fact of the EXTREMELY slow speeds of the connection, its nowhere even close to 8MB. Running the very widely known and well respected speedtest on Speedtest.net shows the connection to be no better than a 2MB connection!?! I have also run your own speed test included with the home hub software and its results are very similar, 1.9MB! Your software reports this as "acceptable", but I'm sorry to say, a connection thats operating at less than 28% of its maximum capability is NOT acceptable. I fully understand no connection will ever be able to run at its full speed, but an 8MB connection thats only operating of up to around 30% is clearly unacceptable under any circumstances. When I first had this 8MB connection it connected at 5.4MB or better, this was an "acceptable" speed, being that it was operating at around 68%. If these issues cannot be resolved I want the price I'm paying per month for this 8MB connection reduced - significantly."
