My dad is flying to the US soon this week, he'll be near Washington so he can buy the card using his credit card and buy online, he recommends using Amazon, i dont know if New egg has the free shipping. My new max budget is $460, im looking for the best Value and most reliable

Here are my final thoughts on the cards i reviewed so far, EVGA SC has a bit higher temps , but the FTW is better because it has:
- More power phases
- Dual bios
- RGB LED's
- First card in the range with hand picked silicon.

Considering this is FTW worth the extra $? I think FTW>DT . IMO this is the best EVGA below $460right now:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01I60OGUK/?tag=tec06d-20

Now lets focus on the MSI gaming x, I have my doubts about it due to some artifacting issues there was back in august, have they fixed that? but i think this shoudlnt be an issue anymore. https://m.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/4wh8jc/msi_officially_announces_gtx_1070_quality/

About the space in the case im a bit constricted cuz im forced to use the lower PCIE slot, i broke the upper one some time ago in an accident . http://imgur.com/a/OW6Sz#0 , i hope ill be able to put the card under there and not choke it with the PSU.

Another good card is Asus Strix and its very similar to MSI gaming x in perf and temps, these 2 are on top of my list as well. I if were to choose a 1070 between Evga , MSI , Asus . which one you think is the best choice? We'll have to consider all the specs OC capacity, cooling ,reliability and specially warranty, I come from Chile so global warranty is important in case there is problems or there's need to RMA.
I look forward to hearing from you

Thanks in advance

I usually hear good things about EVGA's support and bad things about ASUS's support. The difference between all the cards is going to be pretty minimal. As for reliability, it's a bit of a crapshoot as far as whether or not something is going to break regardless of brand. If it were me, probably the EVGA FTW Gaming ACX. It's on Amazon for $440+tax ($476.32 after tax for me) or at Newegg for $459.99 (no tax for me in Washington State). If the EVGA SC is cheaper for you and you're not all that interested in doing any serious overclocking (voltage, extreme cooling, etc), I'm sure the SC will be just fine and likely not hugely different from the FTW edition for you.

It might be worth checking something like PCPartPicker for all GTX 1070 cards. Should be a decent enough resource for comparing cards and prices between sellers.

I have the MSI 1080 in my home rig and the MSI 1070 in my work rig, so you know what I would recommend. I was considering either the MSI or Asus, but Asus only put 2 Display Ports on their card and I run 3 monitors with Display Port so that ruled out the Asus. I love the MSI coolers they are quiet and keep the card really cool.
Just read that forum about artifacts and I haven't noticed any with my 1080 or 1070, both have Micron memory.

Id suggest investing in a new motherboard, that cant be good having pins hanging out like that.

The problem of being a member of many forums. :p

If I have a choice it will always be EVGA because of the great customer support. MSi is also good and ASUS is Poo-Pourri. Don't do a search on Poo-Pourri.

I've always had good luck with evga. that being said this round of upgrades I went with the asus for the extra fans and they still run hot (90+% gpu util 24/7) . if I had to do it over i'd probably go evga and upgrade to their hybrid cooler.

I'm the proud owner of a MSI GTX1070 Gaming X, bought it at the first day they were out, no regrets.
It runs very cool and quiet (using afterburner fan profile), I'm very pleased with it. :)

Run hot? I have never heard of a single Pascal card as running hot.

clock it up at 2100mhz run cuda tasks at near 100% gpu 24/7 and they'll run hot.

temps aren't an issue playing games at 1080 or 1440.

from the 1060 in my Linux box. that's a strx1060-o6g at stock speeds.

My card runs just over 50s while gaming with these summer days. (ok it doesn't run at 100%)
Your case may not have good airflow or try using a custom fan profile.

its the not near 100% that does it. throw folding@home or some other opencl/cuda app at it for an hour and look at your temps. the 1080 barely breaks a sweat playing doom at 1440.

and yeah airflow is an issue with multiple gpu's even with a slot free between them.

Have you ever done Folding@Home? It's off topic but so many people use it for testing and quit before they finish a WU.

yeah I have. but I tend to prefer boinc so I can spread the flops around to other researchers. either one is good if you want to stress out a cpu/gpu and make the room warmer. foldings ppd system isn't the best benchmark. too much variance in workunits and WU times can be fairly long. collatz under boinc is near identical math for each WU, and it runs on x86/intel gpu/AMD GPU/NVidia allowing for direct comparison between procs/gpus. or computing bitcoin hashes for a set amount of time also is a good stress/bench even if it will take 10K years to mine a single coin on an i7 6700k.

back on topic. heat for most users is not much of an issue. if you do go with the asus rog strix for the extra fan make sure to get the O8G model not the a8g or 8g.

Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)

Don't use F@H as a stress test until you know it's relatively stable. Delaying WU getting completed or not at all doesn't help the project in the least.

As far as which card... honestly, any will be fine. They all perform about the same, and with aftermarket cooling are all pretty quiet. I could personal care less about customer service because honestly, less than 1-10 break in their warranted lifetime...

Im getting EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 FTW DT GAMING ACX 3.0
Ok I have a very important question , my motherboard has the upper PCIE slot broken, so im using the one below. Does this limit the bandwith the GPU works at? I worry i wont get the most power out of the card.
Here are some photos http://imgur.com/a/OW6Sz#0
My Mo/bo is a GA-Z77X-UD5Hhttp://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4139#ov
If this turns out to be an issue, ill have to buy a new board and a Intel CPU, and just sell my current PC, but this is only if what i think is true. here is my black widow on his birthday http://imgur.com/tzCbiYY
Another issue is the RAM slot, is blocked by the CPU Cooler. http://imgur.com/a/5CJD7
Thanks a lot for your help amigos, this forum deserves numero 1

The second slot is a PCIe16 running at X8, so half the bandwidth, but theoretically you probably will never see the X16 saturated anyway, or notice a difference.
