Best 2.0 speakers for 300-1000€?

Preferrably on the lower end of the range. Woud really like to get good speakers for the named price. Eyeing Edifier A300 at the moment. Not sure what other alternatives I should consider? Thank you.

Sound better and are more accurate than any soundbar or Edifiers. The soundstage is AMAZING for their price.

Edifier R1700BT. Definitely some of the best speakers I've used.

300EUR might get you some higher-end ones like the R2000DB? Not sure how prices compare, but in the US, they have a wide selection between $100 and $1000USD.

The Creative Stage is a sound bar with a dedicated subwoofer and blows the T40 out of the water in terms of fidelity. Bluetooth too.

I think sounds are better with a separate woofer(2.1) than without(2.0).

Best 2.0 for what? For music, movies, gaming? For all the above? if so whats most important?

Everything I've heard about Edifier is that they punch above their price point but if its for desktop nearfield the A300 is pretty big for that. The one thing I've seen on Edifiers that I really don't like is the fact that they tend to use really weird non-standard cables to connect their power speakers together and often the cable is fixed on one speaker so if the cable isn't long enough or gets damaged your screwed without basically making a new cable yourself. The other thing to keep in mind with any powered active speakers is you can't upgrade anything and if the internal electronics fail you have completely good speakers you can't use (not without getting really creative anyway).

If you are set on 2.0 active in that size range I would probably look at the Q-Acoustics M20 but if you are not opposed to separate components thats probably a better way to go.

I personally think the F&D 550X sounds really good for the price I paid for it a few years ago ($71)

I use FreeBSD in combination with mpd, bitperfect mode and real-time sound settings. The source is my desktop.
The (real) sound I get is purer than pretty much any B&W speaker you'll find for under $1500 and almost as good as the more expensive Klipsch speakers.

I made this sound demo on a 15 dollar Hama micro and on a very old (super cheap) netbook that has an Atom N450 in it + 1GB of RAM. It also has FreeBSD 13 on it.
