3 cards scale fine, I think? PCIe bandwidth is why the upgrade imho, for three cards(x16/x16/x8 on X79 vs x8/x4/x4 on Z77), and it's a worthy one, to me.
He has an X58 board R3E which is 16/8/8 for what he is running. All I meant with scaling is it does not scale as well as adding a second card, but on that note looks really freaking nice from the pictures and screen shots.
