For those of us with older Kepler based GPU's do you have a recommended driver version or do you just install the latest from the Nvidia website?

Also 347.88. Only once since then has anything been added in drivers for Kepler. 347.88 was the last of the optimization’s for it.

I’m glad Toothless is doing good with the latest. I would be very interested to know what performance is like compared to 347.88.

Try his suggestion first, and consider 347.88 as a fallback.

I'm downloading it now, I know kepler hasn't been updated in drivers for quite some time, but surely it should be better using a driver version that was written specifically with kepler in mind as opposed to just using the latest which have had various performance improvements for maxwell, who's to say it hasn't affected kepler performance? I'll be doing some 3dMark benching tonight to see if there is any discernible difference between the latest (which I was using up until today ) and the version you mentioned and post my findings if there is any difference.

Your results will be interesting. What would be even more interesting are how that does with new games. *I’ve always stayed numerous versions behind and do not worry about all these “game ready” releases. I do fine.

Just use the latest, the performance differences between driver versions are negligible honestly.

Well, duh ?
347.88 is too old to support DirectX 12, which Time Spy requires.
DirectX 12 support was added in July 2015 with GeForce 353.62 driver.

Well not really duh like it's a well known fact  but cheers, I'll go check out 353.62 or later and see how I get on, thanks for not being sarcastic about it :slap::roll:

Why weird ?
DX12 support was added around the same time as Windows 10 launched, so... I say it was right on time :D

I don't use my 780 Ti any more, but if I did, I'd just install the latest driver.

Regardless of that outdated driver you used which is likely to cause problems anyway, is the 780 Ti even supposed to work with DX12 anyway? I thought the first DX12 architecture was Maxwell.

It was added in through drivers for Kepler. Granted it’s not full DX12 tho.

Ok, so it should work with partial support without crashing then? Full DX12 support was half of the reason that I replaced it with the GTX 1080. The other half of course, was the sheer speed and they greatly improved amount of VRAM.

Yes, it does work with DirectX 12 games and programs.
It's pretty slow while doing it tho...

Fermi cards got the same "DirectX 12 support" treatment as Kepler just last year :

Oh yeah, I remember Fermi getting the DX12 treatment long after those cards became irrelevant. Honestly, I dunno why NVIDIA bothered. I still have my reference GTX 580 and could try it if I was bothered to. Thanks for the linkies.
