Yeah a 560ti is good value for money. Overclocked they can compete with a 570. 6850 is good for a cheaper card, it can push the detail but dont expect a lot of aa+af. I have one and ots got really low in price which makes it a decent buy.

I would say the 6870 if he wants AMD. It can handle most games @ high settings in 1080P. For the money i spent on mine it was money well spent, couldn't be happier with its perf. on my 1080P screen
