The base clock is irrelevant since the system will be boosting 100% of the time. Base clock is what it idles at. But yeah, I guess all the benchmarks are wrong huh?

Benchmark Scores They're pretty good, nothing crazy.
I have that processor in the surface 3 laptop, and it's decent for gaming - runs league in the mid 100's and i can run disco elysium at around 45 fps at 2256x1504 resolution.

The processor does in fact continuously boost at around 3.0-3.1 ghz during gaming.

It is not currently compatible with XTU though so that's one thing to keep in mind.

This looks like a decent gaming laptop, it's on sale:

Gosh, another person who actually owns an Ice Lake i7 and has first hand experience... sure beats all those armchair critics reading off spec sheets.

I think the OP is in the UK though, so wallmart links won't be suitable.

That last one is ok, but it's Walmart's(eww) and much more pricey than the one Boulth found on his own.

i also have a question about the sims and laptops. There seem to be some people on here who know what they are talking about. I have the sims 3 and some of the expansion packs. They are all on disks. The problem is, every laptop I look at doesn’t seem to have a spot to put disks. How would I get the games on the laptop? Or am I missing something?

Have you tried using Origin? I think you can redeem your Sims 3 serial numbers on Origin and then install and play through Origin without the disks. Obviously this will eat through a lot of internet data so...be mindful of that.

Thank you. I did not even think of that. The last laptop I used had a slot for the disks, so I guess I didn’t think about serial numbers. I had to download origin before, but since I had the disks, I didn’t really look through it.
