Best laptop under $800??

An old friend of mine needs a decent laptop for internet, business applications, and some gaming. I'm trying to find him the best laptop for around $500. Since I'm not much of a laptop guy, I thought I'd ask for some suggestions/help. This laptop has to be new. Thanks!

I am not sure if this is the best, but overall, it should be more than enough for what you want under $500. And with the Nvidia 8200M, he should be able to play nearly any game on medium minus AA and AF

I don't like AMD processors for laptops (exceptions apply here since they do have a few that are good). Does battery life, screen size, and weigh matter much to him? I suggest an HP, IBM(lenovo) or preferably ASUS. The last link seems like good bang/buck, but the processor isn't so great

Like those picks and also say go HP or Asus. I am going to throw one more for him to look over from MSI.

I know they are kinda new to Laptops, but this one looks really nice for the price.

Nice suggestion, but I prefer the ASUS that I suggested (same $$) with a T6500 (much better than that AMD processor) and a 220m (about equivalent to 9600m gt) with I believe 2 years warranty including 1 accidental year (btw great customer service apparently and its worldwide, not restricted to where you buy it)

I have to agree. And I like the link you provided but their seems to be a lot of missing data. The placement of a number of processors seems to be based on assumptions and benchmarks for other processors in the same series. That could result in bad info.
