Are you trying to say that you're computer is located in one place, but you want to watch it in another? If you have the files on your computer already, you can use an s-video / hdmi to hook it up to your television which would be the cheapest solution. If you're trying to say that the media files are on another computer and you want to be watch it on a television located in another room, the cheapest way would be to wireless stream content from one computer to another

Preferably the second option as Im pretty sure I would have to switch over the display to the tv therefore (black screen on my pc monitore whilst tv is selected?) im not sure on this though as I have a 4870, also a 20M hdmi is £££ say £50 I think and im not sure about quality.

Main problem with using a computer would be size of it next to my tv and also id need to have keyboard etc too looking for a more compact solution...

Also money is an issue too dont want to spend too much.
