The best thing I have bought this year is a playstation 3, hardly brand new tech, but still really good, especially for the price you can pick it up now

*waits for those anti-console people you find around here, to try and tell me a gaming machine, bluray player, cd player, internet browser, 160GB hard drive etc, is somehow bad value for £180

I think they're a great value in a nice small package. I've bought two of them.. but I always end up selling them as I just don't use them enough.

nah PS3 is a great machine for the $300 i spent it sits there collecting dust, since i dont buy blu rays i surf the net on my PC, my music is on my PC i dont bother with CDs and i have 5.5TB of storage vs 160gb lol sorry man i had to troll, but serious PS3s not bad for its price, would be better if it still had backwards compatibility to the PS2 but Sony are cockbags that want to resell $5 used games for $20

Best purchase this year has got to be my dSLR. Love having so much more freedom and ability to shoot.

T2i w/18-135 mm lens. $950 but worth every penny.

i use mine alot, although mostly for Blu-ray/DVD/CD players, i also spend a few hours every week playing the games you just can't find on PC

it's also good for internet on a TV

having used a few bluray players, i can still say the PS3 is one of the best ways to watch Video's, just in terms of how easy it is to use, and also in the amount of features it has

i do still use Disks for my music and Video, because whatever you say, they are still the best formats, in terms of quality and price

Best things I've bought so far this year: a Galaxy GTX570, an Antec 750W High Current PSU, 4gb's of G.Skill DDR2-100 RAM, A Logitech 720p webcam, a 720p pocket camcorder, a Minolta 50mm f/1.7 prime lens, water cooling pump and a radiator, and now i'm about to go and buy an NZXT Phantom to replace my CoolerMaster Sileo. Most of that I got great deals on, buying open box items or just buying them through various forums/ebay. So while it seems like there was a lot of money spent so far, it really wasn't hehe.
