and Mechwarrior 3 (and its expansion packs) is a definite 3rd.

command and conquer has stood the test of time.. but for a pure jaw dropping wow factor there is "only the one".. the original quake better still when i bought my first 3DFX voodo 1 grfx card and could play at more than 10 frames second in all its gloomy moody glory..

if there has to be "just the one" it has to be the original quake.. he he

no i havent finished deus ex iv played like 5min of bualders gate never played icewind dale but i have finished nwn...well 95% anyways im on the last chapter of the last expansion

yes Wolfenstein 3D was right at the beginning.. i played that on 386 machine.. doom was special.. but quake was a big leap.. u needed a powerfull machine for that one.. i played em all.. when i downloaded and played the original quake demo.. i was "wowed" it was also one of the first 3DFX hardware accelerated games.. hardware acceleration was another "wow".. he he

the other "special" game was the first edition of need for speed.. when the 3Dfx hardware accelerated version came out that was another "wow".. he he he..

i kept my old voodoo 2 card for ages along side a more modern card so as i could play the pair of those games.. mind u the appeal was hardware acceleration as much as anything.. but the names still live on which kinda tells its own tale..

As is it's predecessor, Daggerfall. Any game that is packaged with an emulator to run on current computers obviously stands the test of time.

wolfenstein doom quake are all made by the same people www.idsoftware.com they made doom and quake how can it rip off? Quake 2 is the best game of all time.

What happened to the original Unreal Tournament. I voted for CS:S it has been gettin better lately especially with the hdr and stuff. Not to mention the physics is pretty d*** good. Although i would have to say doom1/2 tripped me up.

well css is a work in progress. they just dont know when to stop changing things so gamers can get hardcore practice. there in itself is why there isnt any popular gaming contests with source. my favs would ahve to be cs:1.6 and source, starcraft, bf1942, nfs series, command and conquer, gta series, farycry, and guild wars. check xfire if u dont believe me..

NO votes for Max Payne? C'mon guys... Max Payne and Max Payne 2 were killer. Why? Because I ran Max Payne on my ol' Pentium 3 with a Geforce 2 and guess what? It wasnt bad! At the time, I thought the graphics were wonderful and no lag too... and an INCREDIBLE story to add to that. Max Payne 2 was equally as impressive with an amazing storyline. Not only do they have an amazing story, the gameplay is rock solid as well. I can play it for hours without stopping...
