the only way to get better FPS is to run it on low or medium.

Game sucks terribly for performance - you can ugprade your system all you want, you'd be lucky for another 10FPS.

gtx 295 will do, along with a speedy chip... like a 4.0Ghz dual or a nice quad. Nothing less.

^ i said you have to run at medium :p

the game just runs like crap past medium - takes a ton of power to get to high (and still have an FPS above 30)

The best singe card (single GPU) to run Crysis has yet to be released. Ask this question next summer and you'll get a better answer.

PS.. all said and done Crysis isnt that good. Just ask the 9 people still playing Crysis Wars...

Wait! There are still people playing Crysis Wars? We need someone to study these individuals.

I get 42 avg on the benchmarks with my E8500 at 3.8ghz and 8800gts all on high... it cant be really that bad. Though the benchmarks may not stack up correctly to the actual game, im not sure. Then again i'm not playing at 1440, im only playing at 1280, so that may be the difference. Didnt seem to help at all dropping it down to 1024 though, so I dont know.

You're playing at the resolution of a gameboy. Of course you're getting good FPS.

I dont bench Crysis by Avg FPS. 52 Avg is useless when the game bogs down to 17 when things get interesting.

If your looking for more FPS and overall smoothness just about any newer card can give you that in Crysis. My new rig runs it @1920x1080 4xAA and runs at over 35 fps during gameplay and has never dropped below 20. If it did (which it doesn't) I would go to 2xAA, but a GTX 275 or HD4890 1GB will perform very well @1440x900. By the time cards come out that run crysis @8xAA+ in HD we wont be playing it anymore is my guess. So any new card will smooth out your game a good bit and they can be had for around $200 which is great for the consumer in my opinion.

I'm sure they would, but you will most likely end up waiting on them to have the bank clear it. I would take western, but would have to wait that given amount of time, just couldn't send anything out knowing I might not be getting my money.

Another alternative is paypal.

I already made some purchase here on TPU:D, of course im gonna send them first, and after they claim it that`s the time they will ship, it only takes 15 minutes after I send it, the most important thing is the tracking number, but there`s one problem, if there`s no western union outlet in their location:( they can claim it as cash though, but it`s a $15 charge for me for the service charge on western union:banghead:

If Crysis is the only thing you want to upgrade for, my advice to you my friend is to throw the stupid game away and play a properly coded game that runs as it should. :shadedshu

OC'd properly, you could use your current setup and gain a few more FPS. I have an(a) E6600 @ 3.20 *It's degrading fast, so is my mem :(*, dual-channel DDR2 2GB @ 1000+ (dropped down to 800), HD4870 @ Stock, and I get respectable rates. I get around 48-76 FPS. I have tweaked a few things, though.

I comment still stands...if you like the scenery take a walk outside, nothing in a game compares to that and you wont get lag there either...poorly coded games. :shadedshu

Im thoroughly looking at your screenshot, the only thing that`s different is the Direct X, im using DX 9C, and you`re using DX 10, so if I use DX 10 does it help my FPS cranked up a bit like yours? I know its not my CPU cause its only 30% usage on both of my cores

Wait! There are still people playing Crysis Wars? We need someone to study these individuals.

I just bought the first Crysis a couple weeks ago:laugh: and just beat it last night :toast:

In my opinion the graphics on medium don't look that bad and I have great performance with around 25-30 fps. I have always heard people saying the game play is horrible and only use it for benchmarks, but I really enjoyed this game:D
