Plz suggest me best tablet within 300USD.

Main thing which must be there is support for ms office, PDF & chm files.

Rest multimedia & all ok.

I found Kindle fire hd, google nexus 7/10 among popular tablets within 300USD. Suggest me best among these or other tablets.

But I wanna know if kindle fire can open chm files directly or need conversion? & which OS is there in kindle fire?

Kindle fire uses a butchered android OS so yes it should be able to open CHM files.

Ok. So all android app which are available in android mobiles like galaxy S3 , note 2 etc will work with kindle fire?

Yes most will. Each android device is different and some apps are scaled to fit them. Most popular apps will work on almost anything android so you shouldn't have an issue.

Depends on what kind of person you are. They are pretty good devices, if you don't mind being the property of a company.

Imagine you are an orange. In this case your juice is currency and Apple is the juicer.

I do not think its really worth the extra 29$ TBH

Apple mini tablet mounts a 7.9-in LED-backlit IPS LCD display with a resolution of 768 x 1024 pixels at a meager 162-ppi. The device drops the much-wanted Retina display and has lost a significant amount of sheen due to this. Kindle Fire HD is a bit larger with an 8.9-inch high definition display. It is an IPS TFT capacitive touchscreen that sports a better screen resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels at 254-ppi. The Nook HD+ is almost identical to Fire HD, but is rather smarter with a 9-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1280 pixels at 256-ppi. Going by innards, the Mini comes with 1GHz dual core Cortex-A9 CPU with Apple’s new A5 chip inside. Its performance is boosted by a PowerVR SGX543MP2 GPU and 512MB RAM. You can find 16GB, 32GB and 64GB variants of this machine. Onboard the new Kindle Fire HD, Amazon has integrated a 1.5GHz Cortex-A9 CPU with TI OMAP 4470 chip and 1GB of RAM. The device has two – 16GB and 32GB – memory versions. Nook HD+ is powered by the same setup, but it comes in 16GB only.

LOL!

A co-worker just bought the Nexus 7 (32GB) at Sams Club for $250 last night. He had the balls to bring it in this morning, so now I'm buying myself a Christmas present.

The nexus 7 would be a far better purchase than a kindle fire.

You have to realize the Ipad Mini is nothing like the Ipad 2 right? Its not got most of the "Bells and whistles" as the full size Ipads. The kindle/nexus you are getting a larger DPI display with (on the nexus) a fully customization OS. Like 3870x2 said, it all depends on which person you are. There are Mac people and there are Android people.

The nexus 7 would be a far better purchase than a kindle fire.

I have to agree BUT only from a mod point of view, if the kindle HD gets the bootloader unlocked and roms being made for it, I believe it would be better than the nexus 7

If you're looking strictly at a hardware point of view, then yes.

Well, I'm not rigid like iOS or Android person.
Frankly speaking, I have used only apple till now. Currently have iPod touch 4.
And for sure, iOS as well as iPod touch is best.

But I want to try with android too, no experience till now though seen many friends' android phones.
So buying google LG nexus 4 mobile.

For tablet not sure yet, confused.

Right now the kindle is completely butchered to it "Amazon" Android OS but root has already been achieved and if they can somehow unlock the bootloader for a good recovery then the ROM junkies will come to play and thats when I believe sales of the fire will skyrocket.

A tablet that competes with the Nexus 7? Sure.

The best in its category? Not exactly....

The inbuilt speakers are better on the iPad and its design is "more pleasing" to the eye.

However, the Nexus has a superior screen (currently, iPad lacks "Retina"), the marketplace is better without any doubt and its very user-orientated in the respect you can pretty much make it do what you want and customise it to your desires... one thing the Apple products seriously lack.

My vote goes to the Nexus 7.... BUT, if you can hold out, do so. It'll be cheaper in a very short time, mainly due to holiday sales but partly due to other tablets coming out soon.

Guys, don't focus on retina display it won't matter for routine use & routine users. You won't even realize whether retina display is there or not. It's not necessary.

Honestly at this time, the nexus 7 is the all around tablet to get. If you are new to android I would start there and then watch the market for things to come.

Apple has the best mobile OS with iOS6. Apple has the best app support. Apple also has the best resale value.

There should be a rule about asking for help and then saying that we should ignore the fact that the iPad Mini doesn't feature, in my view, one of Apples biggest selling points.

IF (when) the Mini has the retina display, it will be worth buying... or at least be a contender.

However, for now, the best tablet in this price range IS the Nexus 7 for what it offers, how it works and the price you pay for it.

Also, for day-to-day viewing of screens... you will notice pixels in the Mini.... that is, if you don't wear glasses like the portholes on a ship.:toast:

Edit:

Apple has the best mobile OS with iOS6. Apple has the best app support. Apple also has the best resale value.

Crawl back under your rock fanboy. :shadedshu

Don't be bias, be fair and offer a rounded view of the situation.

Also, for the record, iOS6 is a pile of shit and has been since launch. Lets hope they fix it soon or that stock price will keep falling....

This. There isn't one tablet that can match it at it's price point. There is a new version out with mobile data. It also runs Jelly Bean, android 4.1, another plus.
