The Beyerdynamic MMX 300 2nd Generation is the new iteration of the company's first gaming headset. It keeps the high price of its predecessor, but significantly improves upon all its key aspects, which makes it an interesting choice for exceptionally demanding gamers with big budgets.

While I dont have these (got DT880) I might add that if someone wants comfort while gaming I suggest Sennheiser. I really like Beyer sound (at least on mine) but comfort is pretty far behind Senns. Given these look more or less identical to DT880, it probably wont be different..

I am still using the Gen1. I guess the comfort depends on your ear/head shape, I can wear it comfy for hours. I got mine back in 2010ish and some of the PU leather parts disintegrated over the years, but for Beyerdynamic, you can order almost every single spare part over their store. While the acquisition price might be high, it will also last a loooong time, given you can always get spare parts if you manage to break something.

Yea I have new earpads too, having them for very long time too. But same goes for Senn, got mine actually factory refurbished. They are reasonably comfy once adjusted to, but its not same as with Senn, where one can simply completely forget you actually wear them.

Those very plasticky gaming headphones from pure gaming brands usually wear down relatively quick and obviously never offer a sound comparable to premium headphones like one in the article. Often when we build a gaming PC, we focus on performance, but if you buy PC-gaming equipment with a set budget, it offers often better overall experience to get a high quality monitor and high quality audio solution. Overpriced motherboard or overly powerful CPU will not help if there is no sharp image to have with the monitor or the soundstage is just not there.
