Australia's politicians take the cake, at the moment the biggest issue is apparently how we are dealing with the measly 3000 to 5000 illegal asylum seekers we get anually. One side wants to make some sort of exchange agreement with Malaysia and the other Nauru... you'd think maybe arguing about how best to shore up our economy against our over reliance on mineral exports should be the top of the list considering the recent economic troubles.... i hate politics and i'm almost convinced politicians are either incompetent or corrupt.

I don't see BD as being an overwhelming success. Much more interested in Piledriver. BD to me seems like a temp holdover till that, preparing the way for PD. Llano will likely have a much greater impact than BD will. The low end market is how Intel lays claim to it's lead in GPU area. Even if it shouldn't count because of the poorness of their IGPs, I'd sure like to see AMD or NV take some sizable market share here. APU tech can do that.

SB...ehhh. I'm not saying its going to flop. It wins because the affront to all things right in the GPU world has been removed from it. But IB certainly is more interesting. SB-E just seems like a holdover till that, just like BD.

Politicians...oh come on, you really have to ask? My personal quote: "There are no good politicians, only good peasant rebellions."

I beg to differ: Portuguese politicians take the cake!

Now, they want to increase the electric bill, for the 3rd time this year (if memory serves). Only a small 30% increase ...

They already raised the tax within the bill from 6% to 23% and now this ... :shadedshu

Sorry but you cannot beat Spanish politicians; most corrupted country in Europe is Spain. How they get away with it? The current goverment is backed by 90% of the media and Justice (High Court and Tribunal) is also corrupted. The Home Office Minister warned ETA members that the police were on their way to catch them, he is now the socialist candidate for the next general election. Analogy: Secretary of State in the USA warns Bin Laden that a commando team is on their way to kill him. :shadedshu

Politicians, me say.

BD & SB-E could've be bigger fail, but since - a) i can't choose both @ the same time & b) politics (like prost.... erm, female escort services & death) is oldest out there in a life & the fact it more sucks then helps to elevate the life values i chose politicians. Sara Michelle Gellar? Like someone of you said she looks good when muted. Remember only the Buffy when it concerns her acting carreer. I hope she's good in bed, tho. :toast:

As I expected the politicians (my vote as well) are leading by a landslide. But I am surprised to see that both SB and BD are beating the SMG series....should that cause some embarrassment to all that didn't vote for her new series

I have a theory, everyone that did not vote for politicians as the biggest failure lives in country's that most of the planet do not know exist where politicians do not exist so those people don't have a clue how bad they are.

Obviously the only way someone could not see that politicians are the biggest failure of all time.

Sandy Bridge-E and Bulldozer can't fail until they release. It would be premature to say they failed now. :p

Politicians are always "fail" though. Doesn't matter who you are nor where you are from, there's always something to hate about them. XD

things can fail prematurely tho, right?

SMG, no question. Calling politicians a fail is simply an empirical observation. No opinion involved. But SMG sucks for bailing on Angel just because Buffy was over - or whatever her pathetic excuse happened to be.

Bulldozer:
http://lab501.ro/procesoare-chipseturi/amd-fx-8150-bulldozer-preview
"Conclusions

I said from the beginning that Bulldozer architecture is a turning point for AMD, defining what will happen to the company's products in the coming years also, knowing the philosophy behind this new architecture, and most fans both new company or simply technology enthusiasts have built many expectations about the Bulldozer. 8 cores combined in an effective, attention by mainstream market AMD FX brand and achieve a return of 8.43 GHz frequency before launch, all fit this product seems to be very competitive.

But with our short passing test suite, we had the most brutal awakening since test components and write reviews, pure and simple, it is difficult to find a scenario where the bulldozer is a competitive solution. Handbrake only approach the performance of i7 2600K and with lower price may be considered a smart choice, assuming you only x264 encoding, but what about heat dissipation and energy consumption, of the approximately 250 RON save will have to buy a cooler better and we will remain current for many bills. Or what of the lack of vigor in multithreaded applications less, or downright tragic performance in floating point calculations? How justified that in some benchmarks is considerably slower than its predecessor, the Phenom II? How explain that encourages overclocking AMD producer, but Bulldozer double their energy consumption and so much just by raising the frequency and voltage in modest limits?

And we can not even enjoy the fact that AMD motherboards are usually cheaper because Bulldozer requires a motherboard with a power floor very, very strong to cope with current consumed by the processor, so therefore quite expensive talking about models that bring the cost to a platform similar to the Intel platform.

Unfortunately for us Bulldozer was not what we expected, and the disappointment is even greater as this architecture marks five years since AMD has lost market leadership processors, and 5 years from the last iteration of the FX brand . As a user of the Athlon 64, I remember the aura of exclusivity now that benefited expensive FX series processors, which fully deserves its price but because they were able performance. 5 years later, we are dealing with the hurting memory of his ancestors FX, a significantly lower performance than the competition and significantly higher consumption. And, in this case the price really does not matter. We want to see $ 1,000 AMD processors able to fight alongside solutions from Intel, not cheap products that do not justify their price anyway.

We can only hope that AMD will somehow fix the problem even in short-term energy consumption by a new revision, otherwise quite dark days loom for this area, as lack of real competition at this level does not bring anything good for the consumer final."

Sorry 1000 dollars for a CPU is ridiculous

:shadedshu

Do you guys live in a 3rd world country?

Australia not that long ago almost got as bad as a 3rd world country thanks to a certain Prime minister when it came to work conditions, thats right Australia almost as bad as a 3rd world country, its unheard of, it got that bad.

Carbon Tax! We are one of the smallest when it comes to pollution and we get slugged with a carbon tax that NO other country in the world gets slugged with :wtf:

Increases just on my bills at home:

Electricity has gone up more then double in the past 4-5yrs, average of around 20% a yr, and they have the right to up it as much as they like when they like as many times as they like.

Water rates went up this yr 33%

Land rates up an average 45-50% in the past 3yrs.

Compulsory Car insurance has doubled in the past 4-5yrs from $250 to now $500 a yr. 100% increase.

Food has doubled, it isnt as bad "now" but it was a 100% increase in just a few yrs.

Fuel prices in the past 10yrs have tripled from 65-70c a litre to now $1.50+ a litre.

My income went down 3%

So all in all we get an average (just normal house expenses) of around 140%+ increase every yr just as a estimate.

This country and Taxes is a complete joke, we have more taxes then any other country on earth.
