Bigwater 735

i know its not a high end cooling system... but 39.99 looks like a good deal...now heres another question for anyone that has pumps like these. My second passion/hobby is home wine making. I have been wanting a filtration system ..pump to filter ..then bottles. Do you think this pump will be powerful enough..the "retail" filtration systems are 150 to 200$..i know i could make one for way less if i can find a good pump cheap...oh well any input would be appreciated.

ive had a few bigwater setups and there only 2 degrees hotter than my 400 dollar setup i have now

i wasnt going to buy it for a cpu cooler.....but possibly for the reason in my post

For $40 bucks I think it's worth trying it out for a wine filtration system.
If it doesn't work, drink the wine. You won't care you spent the $40 then.

Well you can get the specs of the pump. How much pressure do you need to filter wine.
I just brew beer, so I know very little about winemaking.

Just a thought ... if it won't force the wine through the filter, you could set it up next to your easy chair and pump wine from the bottles into your mouth !!

I heard the Bigwater setups for rig cooling were not great, but not horrible either.
I think they are a good starting point for someone who has never water cooled and wants to give it a try without spending a lot of cash.

i would get a H50/70 befor i wasted money on something by thermaltake. high end air beats a thermaltake unit

Nope, not big water kits. They sucks. The blocks crack and so do the pumps.

It should work for pumping wine through a filter easily. I'm not quite sure if it's safe for things you drink though.

^ glad someone mentioned that key detail. I would hope that there are FDA requirements on a pump that is meant to have drinkable fluid pass through it, and I would highly doubt that a CPU pump would meet those standards.

Kreij, you brew beer? I've been doing it for about 10 years, but I've not brewed a batch in 2 years. I miss it. My glass carboys are gathering dust.

my carboys are never empty for more than a week or two !

not that good of a unit, plus if u look it's refurbished. would trust it to cool a nb on a 775 socket, that's about it.
