Bios ATI HD 2600 XT for HP Pavilion HDX 9000

I searched for a firmware for an old laptop, but I did not find a copy of the video card.

use the program i linked. download & install it, then run it, it will give you your GPU's specifications.

if you have trouble, take a screencap of the GPUz windows and upload & link it in this thread.

You should be made aware often Laptop discrete Bios's are Built into the laptop motherboard Bios

rewrite doesnt require a new file....

your better off editing the existing bios than trying to replace...i know you might have wanted to hear different, but i dont think those bios' in the database will help You. btw your's is a 256Mb gpu. you could try hitting the "look up" button at the top of GPUz on the right...it will give a list of boards based on that design i think

Save the original B4 trying any of this....GPUz has a bios save function. your out ofmy knowledge area on Mobile tho...sorry i couldnt be of more help. make sure to consider the costs to the gains of this endeavor before embarking, MANY a GPU have gone DOA during these types of voyages.

Could be a driver issue, did you try another display driver?

There must be a way to copy it.

I don't know if you have an iGPU built into your processor, maybe you can switch to in your bios, that way you can disable the dGPU and save a copy of its bios when it's not active maybe ?

To be honest, I'm with the other members who are suggesting other forms of addressing whatever problem it is you're experiencing. I wouldn't mess around with the bios until you have absolutely no Other choice ,and the GPU is unbootable

Messing around with the bios because of instability or issues , is like performing brain surgery because you have an itchy foot.....there's other ways to address the matter most likely

well, my point is still valid, its almost Always a bad idea to mess with bios....Especially when the person attempting it doesnt know how much Vram their GPU has. also, there must be a way to get the Vbios from that Lappy....im certain someone here knows how....patience might be the best thing ot choose in this situation

Open the sensors tab in GPUZ and let it run for a little while ,and then take a picture of it and upload it. that way we can see the temperature & the load etc.try to put a strain on the gpu also during

im going to have to bow out on this one. its been YEARS since have used a laptop like that one, and i cant remember what i did yesterday, so...id suggest you bump this thread once a day, and hopefully somone with more experience in this matter will come along.

sorry i wasnt able to help You.

a few things i would try.
running an sfc/scannow command in CMD as admin, to check for system issues
running a Malware , or A/V scan
make sure windows updates are current

It’s really not. Chances are you’ll have no video card at all. But good luck we’ll see you back here when it’s bricked. BIOS flashing is not a “cure” and what is it you think you can change by doing it that’s going to fix your problem?

How did you come to this conclusion? Did you check the GPU temperature? Did you ensure that your laptop is clean and your thermal compound is not dry?
Did you consider that your GPU is failing and there is no cure but to replace this 10y.o. laptop?

BTW, I just looked up the HDX9000 motherboard and it looks like your GPU is a dedicated MXM card. Over time those tend to flex and lose contact with heatspreader. You might wanna check it out.
So far I can predict with 99.9% accuracy that you'll need a GPU replacement and a proper maintenance+cleanup.
