bioshock questions

I got a copy of bioshock and i want to censor it. also it keeps crashing...

It just goes black, no loading page anything.

i have tried the patch and reinstalling

i haven't tried admin, and the game is incredibly bloody, so when i shoot em i dont want anything coming out of them

edit: admin doesnt work.

i cant think of any specifics. all i'd suggest is the usual runarounds with directX and drivers.

If you have multiple audio codecs on your system, that will cause the game to crash. Uninstall all but your main audio codec. Also media players such as VLC and whatnot will cause problems. I had a problem where I could never get the game to launch with v1.1.

VLC doesnt even install codecs, so it cant be related. Codec packs such as K-lite can cause problems - its a good idea to remove any such codec packs (the only trouble free one i've found is CCCP, however you need to remove ALL other codec packs before installing it)

Yeah, no problems playing any game in a long time with the CCCP here. On the rare occasion it does cause a problem, you do not have to uninstall it. You just set ffdshow to ignore the Bioshock exe.

Bioshocks porblems are usually sound related. make sure you have no other drivers for the sound than what you need. Compat mode does nothing when bioshock is fully patched (it might enable you to get in game but you will then have no sound).
To get mine working, I had to enable stereo mix (wtf?) sounds bizarre. But now I can get it 100% working after a reformat, by simply installing the latest sound drivers, then going to recording devices and enabling stereo mix.
As for the blood, I think it may have an option. not 100% though. otherwise see if you can get hold of the german version or something.

i kept getting no sound so run it in windows xp sp2 compatibility

then add space first then -nointro to your shortcut, obv properties then do that to target also try doing that to the main exe first

so the compatibility do that to the main exe also

means there will be no intro loads the start up screen right away

Wow. I didn't really even see much of an opportunity for a sequel in the storyline. Well nonetheless I hope the new one has multiplayer!!

i doubt it will have multiplayer. the games combat is designed around enemies who are faster/tougher than the player, so a game with all human players would be... rather dull in comparison. It'd just be a UT ripoff with plasmids.

Coop is unlikely as well, its rare for a 'scripted' game to get coop.

Yeah I wouldn't like co-op. I think it would ruin the atmosphere of the game. I can see your point about the multi player. On one hand I think it would be sweet if you chose if you wanted to be human/Splicer/Big Daddy, but on the other hand I could also see it getting pretty lame or one character being overpowered pretty easily.

Oh yeah, but the lead designer isn't on the team. However, his remaining team is and I just hope they do a good job with it. I didn't see much room either, but I suspose that it could happen. Perhaps a site B?
