Still on the East Side
BIOSTAR, the world's famous manufacturer of mainboards, graphics cards, industrial computing systems and computer peripherals, proudly announces the BIOSTAR TZ77XE4 motherboards within the CeBIT 2012. The most frequent word combination in description of the new flagship lineup will be "for the first time" because the TZ77XE4 boards house a great deal of innovative technologies not found even in premium desktop solutions.

That board looks great! I love it. I'll consider this board if I don't like my upcoming X79.

See that’s sort of what I was saying about the Sandy Bridge-E platform vs. the upcoming Ivy Bridge platform. Some of the technology being incorporated into Ivy Bridge motherboards is making Sandy Bridge-E motherboards look a little old and stale.

Understandably ignoring the integrated video subsystem of Ivy Bridge is understandable, but the Z77 chipset uses tri-gate 22-nm processes, native USB 3.0 support, Intel SRT SSD caching, 4x4 SATA 3G / SATA 6G with RAID 0,1,5 or 10 and so on.

In contrast, X79 boards most certainly don’t have chipsets using tri-gate 22-nm tech, no native USB 3.0, inexplicably no native SRT SSD caching and there will be no more then two native SATA 6G ports,….so while you may be able to setup a RAID 0 array with two SATA 6G SSDs on native SATA 6G ports you certainly could not do so with three or four SATA 6G SSDs (not without a RAID card)

All I am saying is that the high-end X79 / LGA2011 platform is going to start looking old real fast all the while Core i7 3930K CPU‘s are practically nonexistent in the retail market as well as Core i7 3820 CPU‘s. So the platform has effectively gotten old without noteworthy availability.

Love the look and power of the 2011 boards but Ivy seems the better choice. Itching to build a new rig..... interesting time ahead.
