Computex is Asia's largest high-tech event and will run from June 4th to to 8th, 2013 in Taipei, Taiwan and BIOSTAR will be showcasing their embedded/IPC solutions and graphics cards products as well as their line of Intel and AMD based motherboards in the Nangang Exhibition Hall at Booth M0402. The theme of their exhibition this year is their Hi-Fi Puro integrated products, including Intel's next generation Haswell based boards and their FM2 motherboards that support AMD's new Fusion "Richland" CPU. Continuing the tradition of their own in-house audio technology called "Puro Hi-Fi Technology"; Biostar is going to present the 2nd generation of this technology, called "Hi-Fi 3D".

Targeting audiophiles, HTPC enthusiasts and high-end gamers alike, Puro Hi-Fi features an integrated independent audio power design with a built-in amplifier. The technology utilizes audio components with an independent power delivery design for a significant reduction in electronic noise producing superb sound quality. The unique noise-blocking multi-layer PCB layout is conducive for an exceptionally clean signal. That design feature, together with a sampling rate of 192 kHz/24-bit, delivers high quality audio through an analog connection to your home theater system, multi-channel speakers or high-end headphones, allowing you to enjoy true high-definition 7.1-channel surround sound.

Part of the Puro Hi-Fi design includes high-quality "Non-Polarized Electrolysis Electric audio capacitors" for each individual audio channel circuit delivering low noise, low distortion, and a wide bandwidth to achieve the highest sound resolution and sound expansion for the most realistic sound effects. Furthermore, the resistors used by the system are of the metal-oxide film type with metal oxides such as tin. The electric characteristics are that of greater stability and reliability than regular metal film resistors when operating in an extremely broad working temperature range. These special components are typically used in applications with high endurance audio demands.

All the BIOSTAR Hi-Fi series motherboards have the Puro Hi-Fi technology and so are equipped with special components to ensure the best possible audio quality consistency.

I'm really glad to see MB manufactures taking the next step towards better OB audio, almost to the level suited for audiophiles

All it matters is how good their 3D positioning is. Anyone can churn out high fidelity sound but only few also know how to make quality and accurate 3D sound positioning. So far i've been only truly happy with Creative and Aureal solutions...

Biostar and gigabyte as far as I know are the only ones really trying to do much on the audio end. I think it is great.

I'd rather have audio geared to audiophiles and better musical reproduction...

movies dont need amazing sound quality, they need volume and depth. id MUCH rather be able to plug my nice headphones in straight to the mobo and listen to classical music with superb quality...

besides, anyone with an HTPC should NOT be running audio through the mobo OB audio anyway. ANY home theater needs to have a receiver and speakers that run from that receiver. little tiny motherboard plug in speakers will never sound good enough for a HTPC, not because of the onboard audio but because there are no good quality, surround, 3.5mm jack speakers. good speakers should be 8ohm speakers running off a 100W + channel from a receiver.

did you forget this ASRock post:
http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/showthread.php?t=183475

this is a great step for ASRock as well, i think every company is starting to realize the one component that has been lacking on their boards and are finally starting to fix it.

I just did, and my post was before that one. I am EVEN happier more motherboard makers are doing this. Getting a cheap soundcard was such a step beyond my onboard solution, but I would be very happy if I could get equal quality sound via on board. Cadavaca was impressed with the gigabyte sniper m3, the matx board, if I remember correctly.

Another one of those useless "Hi-Fi" motherboard with ATX form factor and no digital output whatsoever? Count on Biostar to do it!

this mb is a piece of equipment to me that none of the previous posts have even mentioned. forget about gaming and movies for just a second. then forget about your 7.1 home theater sound system. now what about those of us ,such as i play a musical instrument and need a low noise yet powerful tool fior separating the electronic drums the electric guitar and synthesizers. so far no other mbs have even came close to what i have gotten out of what im running into this. if any of you have an opinion on something geared toward producing your own quality music on a very limited budget without the frills of high end music studios then please add to what im talking about through situations youve experienced in software and sound production. digital doesnt have to be an output plug something doesnt have. anyway, you have all missed this subject completely

Sounds great, now lets see if this motherboard can produce this "quality high end studio" music even though it clearly states who this motherboard targets. Music production isn't one of them.
