Ok so I have a Geforce 7900 GS that has EVGA markings and other EVGA things, such as manuel. However when i start the machine the card says PNY:wtf:. Any ideas as to what happened. I am the second owner of the card though, though the previous owner i doubt change the BIOS chip from EVGA to PNY....

The previous owner probably flashed a PNY BIOS to the card for whatever reason.

So I checked with GPUz and it said it was PNY.... It is truely bizzare. Why would anyone flash the bios of a GPU? I truely dont know because i dont mess around too much with the BIOS.

some bios have higher clock speeds, and some just work better than others.

Bios has been flashed with a pny bios. It's really not that uncommon.
