Black Mesa in full is now available on public-beta

According to Crowbar Collective on Steam, the whole of Black Mesa from beginning to end is now available on public-beta. You'll need to opt-in in order to play it, from what I understand.
Well, it's been a long time coming and hopefully, it's worth the wait. Looks fantastic from what I've played so far on Xen.

It took a while but I knew that Crowbar Collective would stick to it and see this project get done. There are still a lot of Half Life fans out there even now, 21 years after release. It truly was a classic FPS and I have it on my replay list when it gets fully finished.

I've had to restart the Xen level for the fourth time, because each time they release an update, all previous saves are incompatible. It's also possible that the same will apply when it comes out of beta, but heck, it's quite a game and as you said, they stuck by it and delivered, albeit rather late.

So, we have the mostly complete game, minus Xen on Steam, and then we have the public beta separate?

Or have they taken away the ability to play any of it while Xen is being public beta’d, and then it will be re-released later when complete?

I don't think the entire game - including Xen - is available in the standard game on Steam. You need to opt-in to the public beta to play Xen.
The game leading up to Xen is still there, without opting-in to the beta. Is that what you meant @rtwjunkie ?

Time to get a title change!!!!! This evening, the full game, finally, with full release of Xen is OUT! My "Early Access", 90% complete for the past 3 years copy of black Mesa is downloading in full as we speak!! Despite Xen being out of public beta and mainlined with Earthbound, it is still in EA for touchups, but this is a technicality.

Awesome, I just grabbed Black Mesa only last week for $15.99 20%off during the Steam Winter Sale.

Love it so much...

But I'm still trying to finish Chapter 8 of original half life - 1st time play through. Picked it up during the Steam Fall Sale. lol

I can't kill the darn sniper marine, and of course like a ding dong, I can't jump the stairs laser sensors explosives towards the end. :oops:

Chapter 8 is so exhausting, been taking cold shower breaks. :roll:
