If you quite enjoyed the original Blade Runner, even after 35 years of its release (like this editor) and enjoyed Blade Runner 2049 even more (also like this editor), then you're likely interested, at some level, in the upcoming VR adventure. Blade Runner: Revelations is a VR video game that's being developed by Seismic Games and Alcon Media Group, and has an expected release date of mid 2018.

The story is set right after the original Blade Runner, and its events lead up to the Blade Runner 2049 narrative. Gamers will take on the role of Harper - an experienced blade runner that aims to keep 2023 Los Angeles safe. Caught within a twisted replicant plot, players will be tasked with searching for evidence to piece together the truth in some events. Gameplay features include access to a flying spinner, unique weaponry and the Esper image reconstruction technology. And contrary to most VR games, Blade Runner: Revelations features a free-movement design, though it's not a full liberty one, much like the real world's.

Greg Borrud, CEO of Seismic Games, had a few words to say about this release:

"Seismic Games continues to invest and focus on creating high production game titles that authentically engage and transform major IPs into compelling and expansive interactive experiences for the fans. Collaborating with Alcon Media Group, Google and Lenovo for Blade Runner: Revelations has been an absolute honor, and we can't wait to hear what the fans and general VR users think as they explore the game."

Created in conjunction with Google, Blade Runner: Revelations is set to debut on the soon-to-be launched Lenovo Mirage Solo head-mounted display (HMD), an all-in-one device with support for Google's Daydream platform. Catch up on the teaser trailer below.

I would love the play the original Blade Runner game again but it doesn't work on 64-bit O/S anymore. A remaster (Non VR) version would be great. It released around the same time that the Abe's Odyssee game released and look how great the New & Tasty version looks compared to the old one. Here is hoping. :D

So just like the new movie. Impress you with nice scenes but no depth in characters. Game is gonna be another "Skinner"

Idk, for less than 3 hours, I think there was enough depth. It's movie after all, not a book.

I don't know buddy. I have played both of the short demo/game's on the Oculus store Blade Runner 2049: Replicant Pursuit and Blade Runner 2049: Memory Lab. On both my Gear VR, and HTC Vive and they are really good. This should be great in VR.

If you own an HTC Vive or Oculus Rift CV1 then the next best thing would be Air Car it's free. It's just flying the car around, but it's amazing and looks really good. I really hope they are working on a full Air Car game.

@Prima.Vera - The I played on the Gear VR was actually really good and surprised me. It's one of the better looking games. Also, the google daydream standalone should be even better.
