Hallo All,
I have a Asus Z170I Gaming Pro Motherboard. A cheap usb hub from china with a faulty power adapter caused a power surge on the usb 2.0 port. All my external usb devices are defect including the asus motherboard. I have located the defect smd pomponent but i don't know which replacement smd part to order. I need help to identify the component. I think it is a fuse, Littelfuse’s Polymer ESD or Fast Tripping Resettable Solid State SMD Polymer PTC Devices Surface Mount Fuse. I can work with a hot air station and smd component replacement is my hobby. I have included some pictures hope you can help me out.

All I can say is the component was a fuse. It's not a surface mounted capacitor.

Easy fix if that's all the trouble with it.
Repaired a GPU early this week with the same basic issue and it's working fine now.

Should be able to find one of those on a parts board somewhere.

Benchmark Scores it sucks even more less now ;)
always be very wary of cheapo chinese USB anything as they have a habit of putting mains voltage straight through to the port side I've seen more than a few on Youtube channel for Big Clive
