Toshiba announced that it will offer slimline HD-DVD drives for notebooks in 2006, so Panasonic is hitting back with a Blu-Ray drive and is set to start production of a desktop part in January 2006, with mass production a few months later. The drive will be able to read & write Blu-ray, DVD and CD without the use of cartridges. No mention about a release date for notebook drives has ben made.
