Bootable virus Removal

I'm having an awfully hard time finding a program that can be booted to which removes viruses.
Can anyone direct me in the right direction for obtaining obtaining a disc that you can boot to that will remove viruses.

Got a real bad virus on a laptop, safe mode doesn't work, can't access desktop in any way...
