Last summer I was swapping out the video card, didn't discharge the static electricity and it shocked me a bit when I touched the case. After that the LAN wouldn't work and the PC kept booting into the BIOS like it wanted me to do something. I flashed the BIOS to the latest version and it has been performing fine now for two weeks. The LAN chip is fried, but I had an Intel Gigabyte CT PCI-E adapter laying around and it performs as well as the onboard LAN did.

Now that I have the BIOS instability worked out and can connect to the Internet via the PCI-E adapter should I bother with an RMA? I've heard so many horror stories about ASUS RMAs and am wondering if I should leave well enough alone.

Me, personally, I would make plans to RMA it... get me another MB; or, it is time to do an upgrade, as the fates have deemed it that.
Then, I would sell off everything from the old build, to help pay for the new one; and, test and sell the ASUS board when I got it back from RMA.

On the other hand, if you are strapped for funds, then, I would just chug along with the board, as is, as long as everything else is kosher.
I love my Intel CT NIC, works great... just use that.

I actually have another PC - this one is my main though (i5-4690k build). The G3258 is my system specs is my second, so I wouldn't be without one. It is my fault, but I doubt ASUS would be able to know that if I RMA'd it. Just not entirely ethical on my part though.

Plus RMA takes time and money. If the board works - use it as a backup. I had a P35 motherboard with identical problem, which I got for $35 and it still works in my friend's PC alongside Q6600. Best overclocker board I had in years (except maybe my current Rampage II GENE).

Yeah, I guess you guys are right. I'll just use it until it gives me a reason not to. Right now it's working like it always did save for the LAN and the PCI-E adapter is a good one so that's not an issue. Thanks.
