Hello everyone,

I know the blame is entirely my own. But hopefully we can un-brick my Sapphire Nitro RX 580 8GB card.

WHAT HAPPENED: I wasn't getting monitor signal during post, even though the card worked fine in windows. I read here that an updated bios would fix it, so I got the latest VERIFIED bios from Techpowerup and flashed it using ATIflash 2.93 (I believe this is the right version for 500 series cards). Upon restart, the card was limited to 640x480 and GPU-z wasn't detecting it properly. It also wouldn't flash back to old bios, nor would the physical bios switch solve it (for reference - I flashed initially while it was in the 'OC' as opposed to 'Quiet' bios position - i.e. with the switch towards the ports end of the card). Trying to re-flash just gave me the 0FL01 error.

Do note: Every action I took with Atiflash gave me a popup message that I need to be running with Admin rights. I opened the CMD with admin so i don't know why it said this (I even installed the kernel driver from the latest amdvbflash from techpowerup.

Anyway, I have attached here the sticker from the physical GPU so you can see the model number, but it's as above^.

I also attached the old rom just for your reference ("Ellesmere.rom") which i got from GPU-Z with the card.

And for reference, the rom I tried flashing was this: https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/204138/sapphire-rx580-8192-180719-1 and from what I could tell, the checksums matched prior to flashing.

I would GREATLY appreciate a solution to this! @Imperator I see you know your stuff, do you have any suggestions? I've provided what I think you usually ask for here

Take your gpu heatsink off, get a picture of a ram chip, also uninstall your gpu driver

1002 67DF 1DA2 E366 is the device ID/Subsystem ID

Also flip the bios switch on your card and restart

I have done as requested, please see the attached images. You can faintly see they are SK Hynix chips.

If you are able to provide instructions to fix this (ideally with the latest bios so that there is at least a monitor signal during post) I would be so grateful!

Also please if you could let me know if I should be concerned about the 'administrator' message that kept popping up, as per my first post. I guess not, because the program seemed to work anyway
