my 5770 just died on me few days ago. I posted a thread to help me push harder on the CPU I read up somewhere that higher NB = better ram read/write. I was trying to find my limit but than the computer didn't boot due to it being so unstable.

So I took out my graphics card reset the BIOS. than decided while everything is out I'll rewire my case and fix the ram heatsinks on my gpu since they were misaligned. Do all of that plug everything back in and keyboard/mouse turns on but I get no screen. Since I actually remember how much times you press the keyboard once you are in the BIOS screen to reset to factory settings I did that. Than the computer shut down and restarted, the cpu fan restored back to "auto fan control" which told right away that it clearly reset the bios settings

However I still got no screen. I can hear the pc booting into windows because there was small LED flashing and the fact that I can hear the windows 7 them song play when windows loaded up. So I thought to myself this is weird the fact that my pc boots up normally but I get no screen. I checked out the graphics card and nothing looked wrong at all no loose ram chips broken solder points. Since I've flash the card to the ASUS bios & lost the Bracket due to my aftermarket heatsink I thought XFX RMA was impossible.

My last hope however was baking. Waited for the oven to reach 375c. Put it in for 15 minutes than opened the door let it cool down. This time I decided to put the Stock fan/heatsink on since the aftermarket one I have is a pain in the butt to install. Once I turned on my computer the GPU fan just spun @ full blast and didn't slow down like it normally did when I first got the card.

My question is now do I have any options?

I ask because my friend let me use his 8800GS in the time being. First thing I did was installed my 5770 in the second PCI-e slot, boot up my ATi Flash USB stick and used atiflash.exe -i to see if there was any ATi adapters & It told me no adapters found. The thing that gets me is how can a PC boot without a working graphics card:eek:

why don't you RMA that card. ? do it before warranty is voided.

i don't think "RMA Is Impossible" except your GPU are split into two or smash into pieces , you can put your original heatsink on your GPU and telling that "it's broken by itself" (just lie to them)

For BIOS, you can find XFX original bios, just googling it.

are you didn't have any similar card ? if you have, you can use any similar card bracket and put into your broken card.

Nope you cant rma any more

Idk what it could be tbh

Same. I don't have a HDMI/Display port anywhere to actually see if somehow it was the 2 DVI ports on the card

For BIOS, you can find XFX original bios, just googling it.

You mean like find the actual chip and resold it on the PCB. ATiflash doesn't detect the ati card at all to reflash to original bios.

Also I do no have a bracket that fits with the type of display ports on 5770

It's ok. I'm talking with XFX to see if they will return it without the bracket
