This "method" is the truth w/v=a or a*v=w the max amps that he can draw from is 4x12v rails is 50amps no more but each rail can't go over their max which is 18a & one at 20a

I've edit my post #23 since i use "*" instead of "/" but fix now...

yeah we mean the same thing really. both of us just took shortcuts explaining it.

my point is that while they're justified in how they rate it legally and there is an explanation behind it, they're still overrating it. to me thats worrying, because it means they're trying to make it sound like the PSU can do more than it really can.

its a no name brand thats stretched their ratings as far as they can to claim the wattages they have... and thats not something i'd put a 5870 on, let alone a 6950.

This I can agree to. Honestly a Sentey ERP700-SM is a very cheap no name brand PSU that is not capable of running your system. Invest in a Quality PSU if you need help finding one let us know

1000 watts if overkill & to be honest if these are your absolute only options then the one I links below is your best bet.

COOLER MASTER Silent Pro M700

Silent PC Review
The Good
- Amazingly silent, even when pushed passed 700w load
- Silicon vibration dampeners shield the PC case from the PSU.
- Single +12v rail ensures that enthusiasts can make full use of every amp.
- Decent modular system with sexy looking cables.
- Rock solid +3.3v rail
- High level of efficiency under most load levels.
- Compact size suitable for small cases and some HTPC's.

Bit-Tech
Results
We can't fault the outputs from the Silent Pro - we've got an a set of all green readings. The 5V readings drop a touch as the load increases and at 80 percent of full load on the 5V rail it drops to 4.76V. The 3.3V is pretty solid from top to bottom, as was the single 12V rail until we really worked it at its full 600W limit then it started to drop a touch.

The efficiency also followed suit at dipped to "just" ~83 percent. That in itself is certainly excellent, but with our other readings of 85+ percent it pales a bit in comparison. It's not quite as efficient as the Be Quiet we reviewed recently, but it's still certainly very good.

Throughout, the Cooler Master Silent Pro did live up close to its name, although it wasn't perfectly inaudible like the Be Quiet Dark Power Pro was. It is certainly one of the quietest we've heard (or rather, not) in a while but there was just a touch of fan whirr throughout the testing, even when we left it at full load for an extended period to burn in a little.

At 50-75 percent load the power supply was cool to touch and pushed out cool air, although with nothing to redirect the flow down into the components there's certainly a bit of air just venting straight out the back. During the two 100 percent load tests though the sides were warm-hot and the air coming out the back was noticeably warmer but certainly not hot. Given the combined facts that the 5V and 12V drop quite suddenly as it hits full load, the efficiency drops in 3.3V and 5V weighting and the temperature increases quite sharply, we'd strongly suggest there's very little overhead spare on the Silent Pro 700W.

i'm not a fan of cooler master PSU's, most of them are relabelled junk. From what i've heard the 'pro' series is their best by far, but i still dont know how it compares to decent brands.

read this

Why 99% of PSU reviews are wrong

and if you read this they have links to all the pages of PSU reviewers who dont suffer from those flaws in testing. Personally i go by jonnyguru. just remember that info about one model is not applicable to the entire brand.

That series of PSU from Cooler Master is actually pretty good but I didnt see a price for the Scythe "Chouriki 2" 1000W. I still think that 1000W is way overkill

Chouriki 2: Its a Great PSU & can easily hold 85% efficiency @ 100% load. It even has a Scythe Kama FLEX 135 mm fan built in as well. I dont agree at all with hardwaresecrets. They are a bunch of Biased tards who think they are 100% correct & everyone else is wrong that tries to go against them.

Looks like I didn't make a bad choice when changing PSU's my CM Silent Pro Gold 1000watt was pretty damn loud compared to the 750watt Seasonic X-Series I have now.

well tomorow i wil buy the New PSu but after read like 4 hours

COOLER MASTER Silent Pro M700 is very good Review almost every times .

but bad OEM on that particular model.

Scythe Chouriki 1000 ,no find much info about this but lot good about it OEM.
and Scythe Chouriki 2 1000w is a way to expensive here , i want save some money

in next month i will change MOBO + Processor + RAM and maybe + hd6950 more, for a real h 3d Work ,and some gaming time to time, maybe is for 2 years pc i think the cooler master can handle new stuff for quite time?.

can i get extra info or more help in what to choose?

after read about this i notice the Scythe is a way beter than Cooler master or is jut my impressions?

after read i see modular PSu are just a nice Add on but no really good in some terms and the dual rails or single rails can any explain me better this , because i not very familiar whit this and maybe u have more real experience on it.

and thx in advantage :D

The problem that stinks is that you dont have many options at all. That series of cooler master will be fine for you.

I cant believe the Scythe "Chouriki 2" 1000W is 300 where your from we can get them here for around 148.00

You said the Scythe is 300. If your going to pay 300 & the thermaltake is the same price Thermaltake over the Scythe in my opinion but Honestly 300 dollars for a 1000watt PSU is overkill and pricey.

How much is the Thermaltake & CM.

This is how I would Rate these PSU's to be honest.

Thermaltake
Cooler Master

Depending if you want to spend 300 on a PSU for a 1000watt. Thats your call The Cooler Master will suit your needs perfectly but im not sure what the prices are in your area.

The cooler master m700 is still going to be your best option at this point I called in a few friends on other forums to verify as well. they told me unless you got more options the CM M700 is the best option & is a great PSU regardless.

I figured this already.
