Bsod With Gtx295?

HI there guys, First I like to explain my situation here,
My rig is an asus crosshair (first edition) amd 6000+ cpu. 4gig corsair
xms2 ddr2,and a gtx295.
This is my situation ;At first I was using a BFG8800gt oc then came -
the BFG gtx 295 with no CD to install drivers but windows took care of that. a week later BSOD. windows ask to install display drivers--
when I made the atemp It would just crash, again - I tried resetting the bios , and no luck.

Can this be a driver issue? or the memory gone bad ?
Or the Cpu. I'd like to thank anyone in advance for your input.

Your running a gtx 295 with a Athlon x2 6000+!?!
What a waste. That cpu is a HUGE bottleneck for that card.

Anyways what you should do is remove all the video drivers and use a driver cleaner program. Then download the latest nvidia forceware drivers and install them. You should never let windows install generic drivers for a high end game card. Use the latest official drivers from Nvidia. Let use know if that helps.

First thing I thought as well, that CPU is seriously underpowered.

Though the most important information is lacking, what does the BSOD say?

thanks alot Brooks, I realized the bottlenecking as I was playing -
Cod 4 on line but did'nt know how to descrive it ( only jumpy).
(or skipping)I'll try to see what kind of mobo I can use for this card.

uhh...my 6000+ lagged w/ CoD4, its not a good CPU.

crosshair II and a phenom II 940? if you want to spend the cash, those two would help you get a lot more out of the gtx. crosshair II is just if you want another nvidia motherboard, otherwise feel free to go with a 790 series

How much are you guys being paid to say this?
My 5200+ doesn't have any problems, even at 2.6ghz stock, so I don't see how you people are lagging with a 6000+. I only overclock it because I can and the option to do so is available to me in my BIOS.
