I'll get straight to the point. I'm building a PC for a friend who doesnt game. He does not need any peripherals/monitor/speakers. Just the PC itself. I thought the E7200 was a good place to start, but you guys may have other suggestions. The PC will not be used for gaming or video encoding, but considering I will have Vista on it, I don't want it to be slow. And, I also want to overclock the hell out of the PC before I give it to my friend lol. I need suggestions from everything to cheap case to optical drives. Thanks in advance!

Definitely go with a Dual Core Celeron for an internet rig! They OC good too :p 2gb of ram and maybe throw in like a HD 4650 if he ever does get a game.

Ok I got all the parts but with Vista its 480$, with out 400$.. I could drop the CPU down to a E1200 from a E7200 tho, unless you have an extra 'copy' of vista :p

thanks shadow, but I would like to see some other opinions, and I definitely want to stick to Intel and Asus mobos.

I vote for the e5200 aswell. Can't go wrong on a core 2 duo for that price!
