Well, I'm putting together a new build for a friend, he's got a $750 limit. He already has a case, screen and operating system. But for the rest here's what I have.

CD Drive

Total comes out to $753.93

He wants to use this for alot of gaming. WoW, StarCraft 2, Dawn of War 1 and 2.

Any advice on how I could lower the price? Or maybe just get better performance for the money?

Thanks. :)

Go E7200 :rockout: Kick ass cpu! Everything looks top notch. Cant really improve on it unless you add another 3870 :)

looks really good to me...has a lot of good parts that will alow him to OC if he chooses.

I could see very few ways to save a big chunk of change...maybe like $40-50 bucks but parts would be downgraded...good build IMHO.

good specs.

I wouldn't consider that X38 motherboard exactly "budget". I guess "budget" is relative :) You could save some money buy getting a cheaper motherboard, though, you would probably loose crossfire ability. Does your friend intend on getting a second video card in the future?

The money saved on a cheaper mobo, I'd get a bigger harddrive, like the WD6400aaks.

Yeah, it is a little more exspensive than he would have liked, but he doesn't want to give up the possibilty of crossfire in the future.

Alright, well, after hearing from you guys I think we're going to order these parts at the end of the week.

Thanks for the input guys. :)

Wow nice build. Only thing I suggest is to swap the X38 Mobo for a P35 since you are doing a 1 GFX platform or does he/she plans to do Xfire in future.

I couldn't save anymore than $30-40 without sacrificing performance or crossfire
