Hello there, havent been on the fourms in a while now but i have sold my rig and decided i want a new one.

i have around 600$ give or take depending on the deals i can find.

Let me know what you think of my current build.

Looks pretty good. I'd suggest getting the WD Black 640GB for $5 more. Definitely try to find a board that supports DDR3 and get that instead. You can get 4GB of G.Skill Ripjaws for less than that DDR2 set.

maybe even cut some corners and get the 720 phenom II x3. I got the 920 instead of the 940 and kinda regret not haveing the unlocked processor.

It also depends on the chip. The board gives you the ability to unlock, but the chip's gotta be able to do it too.

Yeah its pretty rare... but not impossible by any means.

It shows that you'll most likely get BSOD's and stuff if you run that ram with Win7. I wouldn't get it, half of the reviews are bad. I'd get either this, this, or the Corsair someone recommended before, but I've always had good luck with G.Skill.

i would deffinitively go with the Phenom 2 X3 720 BE over that 710, or...wait a little bit and get a 925... But, if you want to keep in that price range, then 720 would be my choice

Looks like you've got a good build going! AM3/DDR3 is a smart move like others have said, but I would definitely go for the 720 BE if you can. ZipZoomFly has it for $110 w/ FS on a "combo deal" if you buy something else from them.

yep and it's not going to perform like a budget build either. That build as is currently will play any game at great frames, 1680x1050 or lower. Max every game as well besides the usual exceptions of crysis, GTA4, Stalker ClearSky.

There are tons of good cases you could get for under $120. I don't know if I'd go with the Element S, maybe that Lancool though. Just make sure you get one you'll be happy with, a good case can make a world of difference.
