you will be very happy with either choice IMHO and getting one of these saves you another $30 since that ZALMAN CNPS9500 is going for $60 now at the egg.

well if your going to use this setup as a platform for future upgrading i would really really suggest you spend another $20 and go for the GIGABYTE GA-P35C-DS3R $150 because it supports a lot more memory at much better speeds than the one you selected.

The AC7 is probably pretty good, my friend got the AC6 for his Athlon 5200+, we overclocked it slightly to 2.9ghz, and it runs at 46C load... it's an awesome cooler for the money. And it runs pretty quite too.

hes looking for a budget build so crossfire dual pci x16 overclockers motherboard would not be good IMHO

but the board does look nice, just not that impressed with MSI rep for quality

Right now $80 bucks buys diapers and wipes for a 2 months...

Nothing I do with the computer will utilize the 2 extra cores. I'll save that $80 right now till I need the quad

well i guess why we are scratching our heads about it is if money is tight why choose the 6750? we understand money is tight but where you are with your build seems like you gave up before crossing the finish line. if you cant go quad then let go of the 4mb cache and reorganize your wish list to build a top notch high end 2mb cache system. do this and you will get better value and end results from the money you spend.

here is a great cpu that will do everything you want to do with that 6750 for only $125 and save you more diapers.

Get the P35c-DS3R
DDR3 is pointless right now anyway as its way too expensive, by the time you move to ddr3 your mobo will be way too old anyway. Get a 6550 if you want a better overclocking cpu, that plus the p35 plus the crucial ram will get 3ghz min.
use this cooler for some saved cash - freezer 7 pro open box http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835186134R

get a e6550 and just overclock it man. Put that money towards maybe a better case or heatsink. if you do get the freezer 7 buy some sandpaper too they require lapping...

Cheap RAM is fine! People who buy performance RAM are idiots! you might get 1% extra performance for a lot of money. Just buy the cheapest stuff and use a divider - especially with DDR2.

I am not an idiot. I personally like having fast ram, and so do most users.

the crucial ram is the 2nd cheapest ram after rebate..

There's never any guarantees on an overclock, but it should do quite well, either way. I personally think you made the right choice for a cpu.

Get an E6300, and overclock to 2.8GHz (400*7... 1600MHz rated FSB). The extra L2 cache will come in handy over the E4400.

Get that Crucail DDR2-800 RAM.

Get an 8800GTS 320MB.

He already got the Crucial ram and the GTS 320MB, but he also got a Q6600, so I don't think an E6300 is a worthy purchase. lol. Besides, who only overclocks their Core 2 to 2.8GHz? You are far too conservative, my friend.

good choice johnny, i am pricing to for a christmas build (hopefully anyway)

everytime i tried to go with something cheaper i ended up only $150 or less difference than just getting the quad. since i wasnt getting a "top of the line" overclocking mobo the prices for everything stayed the same and the only change was the cpu price (which isnt that far apart) and about $20 difference in motherbord choices.
