Looking to get a budget pair of speakers, primarily for PC gaming, but also occasionally for other stuff. Youtube tutorials, occasional movie use, ect. But for the most part I will use them when playing games.
By "budget" I am referring to $50 or less if possible. I will be using on-board motherboard audio; I will be upgrading in the next months to a year for a new platform. I don't plan on buying a sound card at the moment. That may change in the future, but certainly not in the short term.

2.0 setup is fine. I don't really have the space for a 2.1 setup, but depending on what is available quality/price wise I don't mind picking up a setup that includes one.

Any suggestions given the criteria above?

I'm also planning to get a cheap (but good) speaker set. Best I've found so far is Creative A250, they go for around $40 and got some decent reviews.

With the risk of sounding crazy for mentioning Genius next to Logitech and Creative, give this a try:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00AY9ZZTI/?tag=tec053-21

Genius SP HF 1250B - THE best budget PC speakers I ever tried - and I tried a lot of them, including Logitech's and Creative's entire lineup. Don't be tempted to go for the more expensive SP-HF 2020 V2 or the models from their gaming series (marketed as GX) - they all suck.

Every friend I recommended those to bought me a box of chocolates out of gratitude, after getting them
