Buffalo Americas, a global leader in the design, development and manufacturing of wired and wireless networking and network and direct attached storage solutions, today announced the new MiniStation Air Wireless Portable Hard Drive, providing up to 1 TB of storage for tablets, smartphones, computers and more.

Buffalo's new compact portable storage solution includes up to 10 hours of battery life and support for up to eight devices, allowing travelers to easily transport their multimedia library with them while on the go, and stream content wirelessly to any computer, smartphone, tablet, smart TV or supported gaming console.

The MiniStation Air is easy to use and highly convenient for users on the go. Nearly any wireless device, such as smartphones, tablets, computers, media players and more can connect to it wirelessly for instant access to 1 TB of portable storage, making it perfect for storing and streaming multimedia content such as movies, music and photos. Additionally, the portable hard drive allows users to set up a Wi-Fi hotspot to share its established network and Internet connection with joined devices.

"Today's consumers are constantly on the go and want to have continuous access to their multimedia files while away from their homes," said Matt Dargis, COO, Buffalo Americas. "With a long battery life, compact size, and wireless capabilities, the MiniStation Air makes it easy for anyone to enjoy multimedia entertainment on a long road trip or when travelling for business."

If it sells for $200 for 1TB, should be very competitive. I also like the idea of it doubling as a hot spot. I would really like to see the dimensions.
