I've noticed that "Disable Turbo" is enabled in realtemp, so I attempted to uncheck it and my CPU began to spike more so svchosts.
So, I was unable to uncheck and it appears to have done something... the check mark seems to be permanent.

Psss. I suspect the forum is using about:blank(firefox) for its background to edit page and forum posts. Okay, it is!! Just disabled my userstyle script. The script is to change the white background to dark and it's obviously interfering with this forum. Ok, I'll add this to the feedback/bug reports section.

Code:
@namespace url(http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml);
@-moz-document url("about:blank") {
* {
background-color:#111111;
}
}

Updating:

Located the ini file and the option for Disable Turbo continued to display "DisableTurbo=1," yet continued to cause havok on the CPU whenever RealTemp launched. The issue began the minute I unchecked the disable turbo option, out of curiosity, what the option does. The checkbox would uncheck, then recheck itself... then system performance would considerably drop where the mouse would barely move, skip, jump, and applications would take minutes to load. Process explorer displayed that svchosts.exe was in the red and using up to 98% CPU, hovering over RealTemp no longer displayed 4 cores, but 2 cores in operation and then PE also displayed only 2 cores available under Process Affinity.

Solution:

Renamed the RealTemp.ini file located within the application directory to RealTemp.ini.OLD and everything began working as normal.
***Don't try to uncheck "DisableTurbo" ;) , though the checkbox ought to be completely disabled if the feature is not available to the CPU.

Maybe because you asked a question about Windows services, not Real Temp.
Lets get back on topic.

My current post is nothing like the first post I had and my current post is entirely relevant since he was talking about svchosts spiking.

None of your posts were on topic, nor are they now. This is the subforum for RealTemp. The OP was giving information about a bug/feature/suggestion in RealTemp. It has nothing to do with their CPU actually having turbo or not.

No further off topic posts please.

You dont think its relevant to see which particular svchost service is going bananas?

No, that part is fine though your initial post that did get deleted didn't ask that.

If you need to discuss forum procedure, etiquette, feel free to use PM's. :)
