There is currently no way to dismiss the New version available mini-window. If you minimize GPU-Z it goes away, but then shows again at once when restored, in an annoying manner. :)

Suggestion: Add a Dismiss or Cancel button to this small window, so users can ignore the update request/suggestion once. Then if user quits and runs GPU-Z again, it can show again.

Suggestion #2: Also add a "Cancel and disable updates" choice/button. This way user can easily opt-out of updates as wanted without going to Settings to do that. :)

What do you guys think, please?

I usually do, but not always want to at once. :)
3 PCs + 1 laptop here, so lots of updates involved.

Besides the point. Also, I would not like to run it that way anyway.

Maybe solution would be to have option "Automatic silent update without notification" and you would be happy i guess.

Not possible. GPU-Z update to a new version requires a Windows UAC prompt, and there is no easy or simple way around this.
By "Add a cancel button" I mean add a Cancel button, there is no use suggesting counter-suggestions here, especially impossible ones. :)

@W1zzard , any comments, please? :)

A "heads up", when you want someone's attention you use the @ symbol before the name, at least in this forum.

... so, @W1zzard

Sure you are. I do NOT want to disable automatic update and very much want that turned ON - I (i.e. likely not only I) just want a simple Cancel button to make it go away (once!).

jsfitz54 -- Okay, done. :)

UAC if turned off for me since win 7 it's simple really.
In my part of the planet and for my important work & other files, this is impossible. :) I am using UAC on all my PCs here, and my family does too - for many years now. It just works for most part! :)
(after some basic monkey training to NOT install viruses from emails ;) )

IF you are fine losing all data+files on your internal and external drives, OKay, but it's not fine for me.

Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)

Why would disabling UAC (which I have also done since its inception, really) cause losing data+ files on drives?

Some users, particularly enthusiasts, tend to do this (disable UAC and don't run robot Windows). I am not saying this is the answer, I think what you suggested is worthwhile as I personally do not update the instant it asks and its annoying always being down there. Updating to the latest isn't a big deal obviously, but the option should be there.

Reason: Viruses/malware, optional ad/nagware too.

By the way, I AM also a power user aka enthusiast, and will NEVER disable UAC on any my PCs or any family PCs. This was discussed before, and beaten to almost death, so will not discuss it again. Use the
Search function. :)
Such an occurrence will usually lose all Cloud data too by the way, and with many files in my several Cloud services, a really BAD idea.
Also, Linux and macOS have the same or very similar function, so it is logical to use it on Windows too.

Unsure what "robot Windows is", could you elaborate?

Thanks for the support, I guess once W1zzard sees this he will want to add it in some of the next future versions. :)

LOL, Naki, I don't care to search. I am already well aware of the risks... which those risks you described can happen with out without UAC enabled/disabled. You make it sound like it UAC being disabled causes that...

Just because other alternative OSs have it, in and of itself is not a reason to use this. Now, would I suggest my MOM and those not familiar keep it enabled... absolutely! Is it a best practice for safety... absolutely! That said, I personally don't care what little it brings me versus the annoyance of the notifications. To each their own. :)

Robot windows is running it 'stock' with out changes.

The risk is higher with UAC disabled.

I am doing some changes. Only basic ones, nothing major. NO Services optimization by any means, not my cup of tea. No changes to Windows Update settings.

What I am doing is:
1) I am using OldNewExplorer to have the Hard Disk Drives/Removable Drives groups otherwise missing from Windows 10.
2) Using StarDock Fences to get nice icons separation on my PCs.
3) Old Calculator added back, hate the Windows Metro crippled & ugly Calculator.
4) 8GadgetPack so I can use some Windows 7-style Gadgets (large analog clock, Calendar/Etc).

Thanks! :) By the way, most (all?) other programs I use have a "Remind me later" button when a new version is found to delay install of the new version, but not cancel it fully. :)
(For example, VMware Workstation has this.)

No. One computer is remote - several miles away. :)
Also, I would need that 1 PC to be always on, which is not practical and not always possible.
