They can't crack down on Chinese gold sellers, and they're missing out on hundreds of thousands of dollars of potential profit. Makes sense to offer gold for money if they can muscle out gold sellers by selling it vastly cheaper, then the money goes into their pocket instead of Chinese gold farmers.

Gold has been made largely worthless for gear, as most of it is non tradeable and the rest is entry level crafted raiding gear, so it's not pay to win. All you can really pay for is rare item drops and materials if you can't be bothered to farm. You still need to be a good player to raid and get good gear.

Nothing like gold selling in diablo, you can't just buy end game gear in wow

I see. So they are not talking about being able to buy everything like it used to be in Diablo 3 or what you still can do in Guild Wars 2 (except ascended weapons).

Meh. I came across an old Hunter epic quest video a few weeks ago, in the Winterspring? Where the only thing he was susceptible to was poison? Those were the days... Real quests that you could sink your teeth into that made the reward worthwhile. Until they get the game back to that level (never), they'll not see my money for gold or subscription.

I don't personally play WoW, well I did a while back, when Burning crusade was the latest. Don't really remember much of WoW at this point.

I do play Archage now occasionally, and the company themselves allows you to buy items with credits that you can sell on the trading post, and also chests with lucky rare drops with high value items. Along with the a item called Apex which is 1250 credits and cost 10 dollars, and it goes up and down in value.

Don't really play all to much but I like the system, at least the company profits from people wanting to buy gold.

It seems alot of the gold sellers in the game are often hackers trying to get your account, info, etc... my account was hacked before launch(took 3 weeks to recover it and I missed the pre-release)

I really wonder what's the point of gold selling. As Rcoon said, It's useless for gear progressing.

It has other uses though. Once I played in local private server (back in the day real server give me ~5000-18000ms ping even though I have the best internet connection in the area xD), somebody trying bribe me 200k gold to give Ashes of Al'ar drop to him (I won the roll with master looter system). Also I bought pre paid phone voucher lol.
