Buzzing sound from PSU

Hi, bad luck seems to be following me everywhere.
I just sent my "high-pitched sound emiting" Thermaltake TR 550W to RMA.

I just bought a brand new Xigmatek NRP-MC651 650W PSU. This was yesterday. Everything works really well, it only gets slightly warm.
But then I wanted to listen to it to see if anything strange is with this one.

I'm hearing a faint buzzing sound. It's not continuous or intermittent, it just occurs at short random intervals. This occurs when computer is powered on and when it's powered off, but does not occur when PSU is powered off via rocker switch.

The sound is very faint, I can only hear it relatively well when I stick my ear on the back PSU grill, but this still worries me.

I seriously don't want to RMA... The Thermaltake unit is said to take 2 weeks to fix, I don't think I'm going to handle two weeks as I have a lot of work to do on the computer.

This particular PSU comes with an array of protections : OVP / OCP / OPP / UVP / SCP / OTP is 80+ and all reviews are fantastic... Also the MTBF is a minimum of 120.000 hours.
Will this strange sound wreak havoc on my life or not ?

personally, i always return/RMA noisy/whiney PSU's, just out of fear of them dying and taking my PC with it.

The noise is called capacitor whine, *usually* its a sign of a bad PSU. A new Xigmatek should NOT be making noises, in my opinion.

The strange this is that this sound is a lot less noticeable when the system is under load ... It's loudest when the computer is turned off.

I agree with mussles. It can probably wait as I let my Antec Smart Power 500 go for about a month with VERY whiny caps.
