I ended up buying it on Xbone because I know from previous titles, the MP dies out pretty quick on PC.
I've played about 6 missions of the campaign so far and am enjoying the voice lines between the people in the squad (especially the banter - almost at BFBC2 levels). The stealth missions are fun too. I've played about an hour of multiplayer and quite enjoy the "War" game mode. It's a mix of capture-point & escort typically. It's quite fun and pretty much as the review said, the best CoD game in many years.

LOL, love watching theradbrad vids. He just comes off as spontaneous, honest, and has a simple kind of amusement that's unique and refreshing anymore among a sea of YouTube gimmickry.
Been playing this game the last couple nights. Takes a while to figure out how to dial in best settings for a 7970, but in the end I found I was able to use way higher settings than I thought I would initially.
The game certainly has gritty, realistic graphics, and the familiar style of CoD WWII titles of old, but one thing that really puts me off is the overly scripted nature of it.
It's bad enough many gameplay scenes are riddled with on rails cinematic moments and QTEs, but even when you're just trying to restock ammo after a battle, often times you're sucked into a cutscene instead.
Don't get me wrong, I love that they went back to WWII, but this doesn't come close IMO to CoD 2. In some ways they even copied ideas from CoD 2, if nothing else for what appears to ba a lack of SledgeHammer's creativity.
The trench battle against the tank being the most notable.
One of the worst parts by far for me was the brief segment where you're piloting a plane. The controls were horrible on mouse, and it felt like filler. I also thought the Jeep controls sucked too.
That said, I like that they included some resistance fighters, though I think they could have focused more on that arc. Most WWII games don't even touch on resistance fighters, and they were a key part of the war.
Liking the story so far, not really liking the QTE's. Performance is good. I notice I'm almost touching 10GB of RAM so 8GB folks may see issues. Oh the MG42 fire rate is too slow but now I'm nitpicking
this game reminds me of The Division(only no where near as much fun). how the hell did they think 3-5head shots wouldn't kill a person.
you play on hard and it just goes up to 7head shots. no body physics like wolfenstien. unfortunately the multiplayer which is what should of carried cod ww2. is absolutely hacked to death. people getting 15 and 0 hitcounts within a couple of minutes.
no thanks... what a disappointment!
I look at it this way purecain, CoD is more of a mess in MP just like Windows is more of hacker target than MAC, because more people are on it. The thing is, just like even Denuvo can only keep a game from being cracked for so long, no anti cheat feature is 100% hack proof. I know what you mean by cheaters making mp no fun though. It's a big part of what made me give it up.

it completely kills the balancing. literally taking the fun out of playing. I'm so disappointed. I still remember the good old days before the aimbot revolution came and destroyed the genre.

For me it was invincibility hacks in Medal of Honor Spearhead, which I think was popular before aimbots. Worse yet those using them would mock and taunt you. I guess I'm showing my age there, quite an old game nowadays.
It’s funny the damn snipers don’t even look like there aiming at the person there shooting at stupid quick scope sniping cheaters more like it with there special modded controllers the snipers and campers are the worst in my opinion

QTEs? Really?
If there's one thing I absolutely hate in a game, it's those QTEs and I'm surprised to hear they've put them in this game, now, in 2017. In Tomb Raider there were a few which included mashing the keyboard and if the timing wasn't right, well you know the rest.
That one thing alone has put me off buying this game, unless I find it at a bargain bin price.
