my GF was using her laptop while charging it and the AC adaptor fell in a glass of dr. pepper that is a few days old. i've shook most of the liquid out of it but it's only putting out .025v now and not the 19.7v it's rated at. anyone know how to pull this thing apart without totally breaking it?

I'm sure it's just tight seating clips along all edges, ya can't really win witout leaving a few marks, I'd start with a couple of #2 Flat Head screw drivers, a couple of smaller ones, and maybe a #3 (sorry I'm used to that from work). I'd start along one of the cable ends since they if you can get it loose there, your chance of lower damage is greater, IF you can get the case loosened up. You may be able to work the rubber plug free from it's square peg seat and start working in that way also, depending on the design....got any pictures you can upload?

I would say try unplugging it, wash it off, let it sit for a few days and see if things are any better.

no rubber feet and no screws. good idea though. ;)

it seems to be drying out. i've been testing it every 5 min's or so and it's putting out more and more voltage. i think i'll just have to let it dry out for a few days.

if anyone has any suggestions on how to get it open please let me know. that would speed this up a bit.

well i was thinking you could try the hairdryer to get the sticker off without damaging it, might also make separating the halves easier as well

the alcohol bath is kind of a last resort......

it did survive the Dr.pepper though
