Hi,

Got a Thermaltake Smart SE 530w (image1, image2), can it run a EVGA 1070ti FTW2, which requires 2x8Pin connectors. While the only cable plugged in now is a 1x6Pin for my 1060.

My hardware skills are very limited so hope someone can clear this up?

Thanks,

Spec sheet for that PSU says it has 2 X 6+2 pin, so you should be ok.

I'm going to agree with the above two users, you'll be fine. That card only uses 170w under full load and the rest of your system might get to 150w, which your 530w PSU can easily handle.

Enjoy and Welcome to TPU!

Thank you all.

A quick follow up question (please don't laugh), so i just stick 2 8pin cables into the red (8 pin) sockets (top and bottom) of the PSU and that's it?

I was refering to the sockets on the PSU :)
Ah ok, you worded it in a different way, it sounded like gpu ones were red. Yes, just plug the red 8 pin cables into black 8 pins on the card and you are set.

im running a 3700x OC to 4.2 and a 2060s OC to the max and under full load they pull 291w from the wall during gaming when they are both heavily underload, im running an evga 550. new hardware is alot more efficient than people think
